About this listen

“Go inside, Adaline. Unless you want them to see this.”

Imagine the guy you’ve always wanted just whispered that in your ear. That you have one night to see what you’ve been missing.

I’ve had a crush on Emmett Ward for as long as I can remember. And not just because he looks like a Greek god and has the audacity to walk around like he could break your headboard given the chance.

But I was friend-zoned from the start, so when he got drafted into the NFL and moved across the country, I moved on to someone else–and ended up with a broken heart.

Now Emmett’s on my doorstep claiming he never forgot about me. And this time...he’s not looking at me like we’re just friends anymore.

The heat between us is undeniable, but I’m no fool. Football will always come first for Emmet Ward, and I’m scared I’ll end up left behind with my heart in pieces again.

But when he asks for one shot to win me over, I can’t say no. Even though I already know, one night will never be enough.

Read it twice

Really enjoyed that so much of the book was from the male’s prospective and how he loved and respected the females in the book.
It wasn’t until I was a ways into the book that I realized I had read the books concerning his parents. In doing more digging I found there are books on each of his aunts. I wish I had known that in advance. I would have read them in order.
Look for the series: Washington Wolves.
After reading The Marriage Effect ( Emmett’s parent’s story) you can get the names of his aunts. My favorite is series books. I feel I get to know the characters much better that way.

Unrequited love, Friends, Tomorrow, slow burn

A Cross country relationship development , life time family friend / unrequited is love, to more but not with out challenges and emotions. On how to work it out. I love the unexpected twist and family dynamics of support . . I do wish there was an epilogue…
*A few open bedroom door scenes.

Loved it

From the first chapter I was hooked on the story Ms. Sorenson wove and it ticked all the boxes for me.

This is a second chance at love story for Adaline and Emmett and I fear I have yet another new book boyfriend; I fell hard for Emmett, there was something about him that drew me to him. He has been successful but he knows that there is something missing from his life and once he realizes that it is Adaline, he is determined to win her back.

The Crush was at times an emotional roller coast of a read and the journey that they took was rocky, with some angst and emotional baggage that needed to be dealt with, but it was worth it in the end.

Another well written and strong story from Ms. Sorensen and one I enjoyed. Stephen Dexter and Samantha Brentmoor really brought the characters and the story to live for me.

Second chance romance

I enjoyed this story. It was interesting to read a second chance romance that was not over the top with angst. It was fun to see many of the characters from previous books.

Narration was great.

Romantic love story done right

‘The Crush’ is a wonderful book. Romantic, kind, sexy, and intelligent. None of the main characters make silly decisions or act in an idiotic way. The secondary characters are supportive and intelligent. Everyone has emotional maturity. Exactly the type of book Karla Sorensen is known for. Bravo to another great novel!

Great book and can’t wait for more Wilder family books

Performance on Audible was fantastic! I heard the performers on other books and they really let the emotions come through. Definitely a plus when I’m perusing through book options. When spending the money, I don’t want the experience ruined by a flat reading. I believe I have read all the books so far for the Ward family plus the two with Faith and Lydia. Great series by author and can’t wait for more on the Wilder family!

perfect narrators for amazing characters!

I have loved this series and all the characters and this book did not disappoint! When I first heard Stephen Dexter's voice as Emmett I nearly cried because the voice was perfect for the character! I would definitely recommend this book and audible! It can be read as a standalone but the rest of the series is awesome!

Meh

Just meh. Story meh. Characters meh. Narration meh. Depth shallow. Just a giant meh all around.
