Wonderful Norse based book

I was recommended this book and was happy I downloaded it. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. I love the mix of Norse gods in Rome. Keep up the great work.

Fade to blood

Despite the naked girl and the word sex being repeated maybe 30 times. There is absolutely no spice in this book. Maybe 20 curse words. It’s not a clean book. But it was good. Fast paced fantasy. Imagine thinking you are about to get with a Valkerye and then she kills you. That’s this book. There were some repetitive animals. You should make a game of how many times you hear “moss green eyes.” The only thing I didn’t like was the ending. It just stops. No cliff hanger or hook. Just seems to stop in the middle of the story.

Great story!

This narrator is one of the best I've listened to. This book would have been enjoyable anyway, but she made it all the better.

Norse mythology has always been my favorite, so I was really excited for this book. The conflict of this story centers around a prophecy, which sends Surt on the hunt for the 3 princes of Rome. Hild and her two Valkyrie sisters come to Rome to warn the King and Queen, but naturally they are ignored.

My favorite part of this book was the world building and all of the Norse mythology elements woven in. It had Odin, Valkyries, Surt, children of Loki and Thor, light and dark elves, and other monsters. I love the way the author built up the tension during the first half of the story, then hit us with all the chaos at the end. She built up the characters so we would care about them, especially the youngest prince, so it made the end of the book extra hard (no spoilers!).

If you are a fan of Norse mythology I recommend this book!
