Publisher's summary

Former diplomat Leona Robin wonders if she made a mistake moving to rural Texas. Her son loves it here, but in a place where it's normal for a prize bull to have his own pet pig and hay bales are raining from the sky, Leona wonders how she'll ever fit in. That is, until she's thrown right into local preacher Ralph Maybeath's arms. Is this love? Maybe, maybe not. Ralph is being coached by a six-year-old orphan called little Leon who is trying to make the three of them into an instant family using fairy tales as his inspiration. Want to bet his youngish, not-even-a-little-bit-dead granny will have a lot to say about this when she finds out? While little Leon conspires back in Texas, the newlywed owners of the Sleeping Beauty Ranch transport their prize bull, Baby, to greener pastures up north, with Baby misbehaving every step of the way. The ranch owners are also saddled with a rodeo cowboy and a nosy reporter who seem like the perfect match - if they can ever get past last year's Internet scandal involving some naked pictures and a pink port-a-potty. The Cowboy's Baby Goes to Heaven, the second in The Cowboy's Baby series, is a story about taking chances, seeing people for who they are, and one very, very stubborn bull.

Cute fun listen

A cute, fun, amusing read. It is easy to relate to at least for me since I have animals that I am really attached to, it saws just how emotional one is over their pets.

Ms. Herman does a good job, her character voices were ok some sounded a little too old. The trooper voice sound very old when the author said he was young. Some of her male voices sound more female at least to me. She does show good emotion making you see each characters reaction and believing it. There are no background noises, no repeating of words and no volume changes. I have listened to samples of other work by this narrator and they were much better. Not sure what the difference is because they were done within months of each other. I thought this was an okay listen and would listen to other work by this author.

It isn’t the best audio I have listen to but it isn’t the worse either. The plot was ok, I really feel like I feel this way because this is not the first in the series and I felt like I had missed something.

A light and amusing story!

The Cowboy's Baby Goes To Heaven is a light and amusing read. It gives you some insight into the emotional connection that people have with their animals. The writing flowed smoothly and had characters that were ordinary and easily relatable. The author did a good job of creating a unique and enjoyable story.

Carol Herman did a good job with the narration.

no real connection story or characters,

I just could not make the connection with the characters that I wanted to have with a read that I really enjoy. This on my reader scale was just okay. The one thing that I did love was the animals. I recall Cowboy's Baby from the first installment of this series. It was interesting seeing more of the other characters that were briefly seen or talked about in book one, but there was still no connection for me to the story or the characters out side of a prized bull.
