Publisher's summary

It's all fun and games...until someone's heart is broken.

They're not kids anymore, but Milo Caro is certain that Colton Mathews will only see her as his best friend's little sister for the rest of their lives. After all, he made that clear the night before she left for college. But four years later, her brother is getting married and Colt's the best man - and guess who is the best man's last-minute date?

Milo vows to use the wedding to either claim the smoldering firefighter's heart or douse this torch for good. When Max - her best friend from college, who may be carrying a torch of his own - crashes the party, they devise a plan to make Colt see what he's missing. But after Colt catches on, he decides to cook up his own revenge.

Now it's personal. Colt and Milo are at war, and between Max's questionable acting methods, an unfortunate trip to jail, and a maniacal fiancée, what could possibly go right?

Rachel delivers another great romance. Slow build, but great character development!

Oh my goodness, I have never laughed so much in a book as I did while reading this one. The characters were so real and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all of the characters! I can’t wait to read the next book and see what the author has in store for Max. If you love to laugh, you need to read this book. Thank you Rachel Van Dyken for creating an amazing cast of characters.

Eh. Not Impressed

Any additional comments?

This is definitely not a literary masterpiece. It was entertaining at times, but mostly just irritating. The main characters are extremely dumb and passive aggressive, not to mention pathetically whiny. Also, it went on much longer than was really necessary. The only good thing about this book was the girl's best friend.

This book had me laughing all the way through!

When I picked up this book, I didn't realize what a romantic comedy gem I was diving into. This book was absolutely hilarious! I loved Colton and Milo's story and the other characters in this book made it such a fun story. Just when I thought things couldn't get any more bizarre, something else would have me laughing out loud. This is a crazy story of falling in love with your brother's best friend and saving your brother from making a huge mistake. I loved this cast of characters and the writing was epic. Such a great story. I can't wait to dive into the rest of this series!

The narration really added so much to the story. They brought everything to life and it was such a fun story.

This is a hilarious book!!

I was a little leery of listening to this book...First of all - I've never heard the narrators. Second of all, it's YA and I'm not really a so-called "fan" of YA. I'll listen and read it but I'm not a SuperFan. However, I like this author's books so I went ahead and listened. I cracked up at 2 am in the morning when I should have been asleep. I'm sick, I don't feel well and I'm laughing like a hyena because I'm imagining all the shenanigans that are going on in this book. I think the funniest line is something along the lines of "Oh, look, a bus! What? What was that? You want to throw me under it?" That is said by Max who is the most hilarious best friend ever! If I had him for a best friend...I don't think I'd need anyone else, but you throw in Colton the hero, Jason the big bro, Milo the heroine, Reid who is Max's big brother and Jayne (Satan's ex) this rounds out the crew of really odd characters...along with a randy grandma. It made for a rocking great listen with narrators who were spot on. The male narrator to me sounded like Chris Pratt from Jurassic World and I just kept picturing him as Jason, the brother, every time something happened to him. It cracked me up. It was well worth the read and listen.

Hilarious and sweet.

I have never laughed so hard reading a book. In fact when other people say things are laugh out loud funny I usually find them amusing but not that funny. But this book surprised me. I love it! The characters are so vivid and well done. I can't wait to read more by this author. Glad I checked this book out.
