About this listen

The Christmas spirit is overtaking Tradd Street with a vengeance in this festive new novel in the New York Times best-selling series by Karen White.

Melanie Trenholm should be anticipating Christmas with nothing but joy - after all, it’s only the second Christmas she and her husband, Jack, will celebrate with their twin toddlers. But the ongoing excavation of the centuries-old cistern in the garden of her historic Tradd Street home has been a huge millstone, both financially and aesthetically. Local students are thrilled by the possibility of unearthing more Colonial-era artifacts at the cistern, but Melanie is concerned by the ghosts connected to it that have suddenly invaded her life and her house - and at least one of them is definitely not filled with holiday cheer....

And these relics aren’t the only precious artifacts for which people are searching. A past adversary is convinced there is a long-lost Revolutionary War treasure buried somewhere on the property Melanie inherited - untold riches rumored to have been brought over from France by the Marquis de Lafayette himself and intended to help the Colonial war effort. It’s a treasure literally fit for a king, and there have been whispers throughout history that many have already killed - and died - for it. And now someone will stop at nothing to possess it - even if it means destroying everything Melanie and Jack hold dear.

This book totally depresses me!

Well written, but we lived through how many books getting Milly and Jack together just to have them separate this quickly?? Very disappointed. Not sure I'll read the next one.

Great story

Very sad ending. Maybe Karen will feel story for did and write another book getting Back and Kelly back together. Sorry this ending breaks my heart.

Perfect Pairing

I admit to nearly rejecting this book in the first few chapters. I had anticipated a lighter context and friendlier spirits. I am so glad I continued. Aimee Bruneau’s narration is so charming and convincing she truly brings her main character to life.
Paired with the excellent development of a complex cast of characters the story is truly solid and appealing.
Anyone in love with the South and it’s romantic culture and history will enjoy this story as well as those with an interest in communication with the souls of those who’ve passed.
I believe you will arrive at the last chapter in great anticipation for “more”.

Another great story!

Loved the book... Karen White & Aimee never disappoint. Interesting plot but seemed a bit rushed & trite. Too predictable... not my favorite so far in the series. However, the ending made me want to read the next one... definitely!

Not the best of the series……

After listening to the first 2 books I was hooked and anticipated this last one. However the story was almost too complicated for listening and Melanie’s personality flaws get tiring. The ending was a bit too “Gone With the Windish” and left a cliff hanger. I will however read the next book which I’m sure the author is planning. Overall a good series especially if you are familiar with Charleston.

Engaging and suspenseful

I really enjoyed this book in Karen White’s Tradd St series. It quickly grabbed my attention and kept it throughout. She literally has me craving a doughnut every time I listen. Creative plot with lots of suspense.

Very good story & narrator.

Interesting side family history intertwining the plot and history of a town & residents. Plus the spirits/ghosts working to resolve crimes.

Love this series

I absolutely love this series. However, I felt that this book was not as full of excitement as the other 5. And it left a huge cliffhanger. I hope the next book in this series doesn’t take as long to publish as this one did.
