Mastering Money and Outsmarting the System
Newkirk’s style is nothing short of captivating and inspiring—he masterfully blends vivid metaphors, like “jumping into the pool,” to empower readers to dive headfirst into the world of financial education. His words spark action, urging readers to take control of their finances. Through personal stories and relatable real-life examples, Newkirk makes each lesson feel like it was written just for you. This isn’t just a “how-to” guide for money management; it’s a deep dive into the bigger picture, exploring the forces of capitalism and consumerism that can often trip up young adults. Five stars for a book that delivers both practical wisdom and powerful insight.

Excellent Advice with Humor and Examples
How many of use resolve the charges on our card? How carefully do you protect you spending habits? Mr. Newkirk does both of these things and brings humor to his educational wealth lessons. Yes, wealth. How to preserve it. What do the wealthy do when it comes to cash and credit? I learned who created the FICO score and how to increase mine. As for the humor, well, I laughed heartily along with the narrator's take on Streaming services cost and tricks companies use by stating fees are low at "nine ninety nine". I look forward to more narrations by Mr. Newkirk in future literature.

I Wish I Knew This 30 Years Ago!
The Choice is Yours: The Personal Finance Choice for Teens & Young Adults is an excellent resource packed with practical advice for middle schoolers, teens, and young adults. It provides clear examples of positive financial behaviors, strategies to implement, and ways to recognize and navigate systems designed to push individuals into debt. The book also offers actionable steps to take control and "beat the system" at its own game.
This book makes a thoughtful gift, whether as a stocking stuffer or a graduation present. As a middle school teacher, I find many of the concepts highly relevant for integrating into math and civics lessons. For parents of upper elementary and middle school children, this is a valuable tool to start discussions about financial literacy and put these lessons into practice. It's an excellent way to model and teach the importance of managing finances wisely.

The Knowledge We Need NOW!
This book is an incredible resource. Newkirk does an amazing job of both breaking down the bad habits and incorrect beliefs that shackle many of us in debt, and distilling practical real-world solutions for breaking those chains and building wealth. The book is written in a plain-spoken style that does not sacrifice wisdom. I’ve made it mandatory reading for each of my three sons (teens and 20s). In a world where the wealth gap is widening at an ever-increasing pace, this book could not be more timely.

Sooo refreshing
This is a very refreshing item. Personal finance seems to be a topic not discussed in school to purposely guide all the unawares into debt, zombification, and consumerism ! These books teach the a, b, c’s (i.e. the do’s and don’t) of financial responsibilities and growth. I highly recommend it to anyone with or without a clue especially to the youngsters entering this life ! Great job Robert ! What a fantastic contribution ! Max Jeanty
