Publisher's summary

A New York Times best-seller!

There may only be one killer, but no one is innocent in this new young adult thriller from Natasha Preston, author of The Cellar, a New York Times best-seller, and Awake.

They think they're invincible.

They think they can do and say whatever they want.

They think there are no consequences.

They've left me no choice.

It's time for them to pay for their sins.

A weekend partying at a remote cabin is just what Mackenzie needs. She can't wait to let loose with her friends. But a crazy night of fun leaves two of them dead-murdered.

With no signs of a forced entry or struggle, suspicion turns to the five survivors. Someone isn't telling the truth. And Mackenzie's first mistake? Assuming the killing is over....

Good Murder Mystery

Any additional comments?

The Cabin had me hooked from the very beginning and the plot twists kept me guessing. Mackenzie and her friends go to a cabin for a weekend of partying and people start dying. Who will survive? Who is the killer? You'll have to find out for yourself! This audiobook had a little of everything to keep my interest. I was a bit surprised at the sexual content, considering that these were high school students. Overall The Cabin was very entertaining, the narration well done and I would recommend this.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. This review is my honest opinion.

Would have been 5 stars if there was a 2nd book...

This was a very good story. The whodonit and how was great, the pacing great, the narration great, just the right amount of romance, good clues. The ending was a surprise to be sure, but I prefer a tidy wrap up.

Kept me guessing!

I really enjoyed this book from all the way up until the ending. Do I still recommend this book to other? YES! I was hooked throughout the whole book up until maybe the last chapter where it started to feel sped up. This book really does have it all (murder, mystery, romance, action, twists and turns). This is the first book I've listened to by Natasha Preston and I will definitely listen to more by this author. Narrator was perfect for the characters in this book and easy to listen to.

NOT a Young Adult story in my opinion

If you could sum up The Cabin in three words, what would they be?

ADULT, drugs, sexual

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Cabin?

the murder for sure. The detective who is a completely moronic jerk! The ending for sure. I never saw who really did it.

What does Morag Sims bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I don't know, but i thought she did a good job with all the different characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really. The memories of the friends that had died in a car accident made me feel sad for them, but tht was about it.

Any additional comments?

This book is DEFINITELY NOT a young adult story. Young adult books are supposed to be geared toward 12-18 year olds, but there is NO way i would allow my child who is under 17 or 18 to read or listen to this book!!! There is a sexual encounter between people who just met, Ru-fees, murder (which wasn't the bad part), Heavy drinking, Satanic sexual encounter pictures that are described as well as other sexual content and quite a lot of sexual innuendos. Whoever said this was a young adult book should have been more explicit that this is a 17 and up book.

Really fun to read, had a twisting turn at the end, make sure not to skip it.

If you like to read mystery then this book is GREAT for you, make sure cotilleen under 10 or 12 don’t read it cause there is some parts that are might be inappropriate for them.

Fair

Rather long and drug out. I drugged through to see who really did the murders.

Suspenseful, but lots of teenage drama

Suspenseful throughout, but seriously excessive teenage drama. Main character is a bit melodramatic and eye roll-worthy. The end was total garbage. Perhaps the author had a deadline? I hate a decent book with a bad ending.
