About this listen

A Comanche war party raids settlements and steals horses. A young warrior named Buffalo Caller kills a young couple, then abducts their red-haired little boy. The boy is rescued by a volunteer defender of the white settlers named Mike Shannon, who raises the boy as his own and calls him Rusty.

The Buckskin Line follows Rusty Shannon, who becomes a young man during the turbulent, lawless period of secession and the Civil War, as he seeks to avenge the murder of his foster father, crosses paths again with Buffalo Caller, and becomes one of the frontier defenders who will, in time, become known as The Texas Rangers.

Performed by Terence Aselford, David Coyne, Richard Rohan, Thomas Penny, Tim Getman, Jonathan Watkins, Christopher Graybill, Scott McCormick, Michael John Casey, Catherine Aselford, Ken Jackson, James Lewis, Andy Clemence, Nanette Savard, Joe Brack, Casie Platt, Michael Glenn, James Konicek, Eric Messner, Colleen Delany, Tim Carlin, Yasmin Tuazon, Tony Nam, Dylan Lynch, Tom Simpson, Laura Reichert, Johann Dettweiler, Mort Shelby.

Old west in its glory

2nd story from Elmer K and really enjoy his western stories. Great entertainment while working around the house, spreadsheets etc. action packed from start to finish. No draggy narrations, or political speeches to fill space. Keep saving the old west Elmer!

Performance awesome as always.

Texas Rangers

I liked the first book in this series about Rusty. I think he made the wrong decisions several times. But he is trying to do what's right. There was a lot of action and a good storyline. I'll definitely listen to book number two to see how things play out. Rusty joins the Rangers and that's when I think things got good. If you like westerns with Rangers and the Army and fighting Indians you'll like this. There are several different narrators in this book. I'm starting to like these types of books more.
