About this listen

“Absolutely brilliant!” (Jonathan Maberry, New York Times best-selling author)

The new supernatural thriller from New York Times best-selling author Peter Clines

You can still owe the dead.

Hector was the best of the best. A government operative who could bring armies to a halt and nations to their knees. But when his own country betrayed him, he dropped off the grid and picked up the first of many bottles.

Natalie can’t remember much of her life before her family brought her to the US, but she remembers the cages. And getting taken away to the Project with dozens of other young children to become part of their nightmarish experiments. That’s how she ended up with the ghost of a dead secret agent stuck in her head.

And Hector owes Natalie’s ghost a big favor.

Now Hector and Natalie are on the run from an army of killers sent to retrieve her. Because the people behind the Project are willing to risk almost anything to get Natalie back and complete their experiments.

Clines is the Man.

You absolutely cannot go wrong in picking a PC book. He has a talent for storytelling that grabs you like a giant tentacle from the darkness. It's too large and too strong. It will pull you in.

Peter Clines does it again!

Another excellent Peter Clines book. This one is outside of the Threshold series of books, but just as good as just as strange!

Medium-Well Done

I love Peter Clines, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Things can get quite gory, but it’s a good story with lots of action. I had to suspend my disbelief in several places. While not his best work, that would in my opinion be Paradox Bound, it was an entertaining listen. It would have been better for a young women to have read it, but it is read fairly well.

Wow! What a ride!!

Fast paced fun, thrilling and creepy. The plot had several turns I did not see coming. There was also interesting character development. Some parts were difficult to get through for emotional reasons and I'm sure that was all on purpose. The narrator was good, but not fantastic. I couldn't help but feel in several different parts how much better Ray Porter could have done. That said, it was competently executed, if not as fine and spit polished as Ray probably would have done. I truly hope it was just a work timing issue and not a falling out between Peter and Ray. But regardless I would whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone!

So good!

I've loved everything I have read by Peter Clines. He builds such great stories and characters, and the way he makes his books relate to each other is really creative and cool.

PETER CLINES IS BAD . . .

A$$! He's crafted some awesome stories and The Broken Room is one of them. This was like a Stranger Things/Jason Bourne/paranormal Mashup - great characters, lots of action and fast paced.
Loved it and the narrator did an exceptional job.

S Kaye

Very creative, love a story out of the norm. Loved the characters!
Never happy about using the Lords name in vain.
Timothy did a bang up job on voice acting. Hope this continues!

Was worth my time

I think some of the critics are being a little harsh. Not PCs best work but it was worth my credit and time. The story was good, and interesting and in the PC universe. But I still didn’t get, was Tim dead? Or just in the “other” realm. Here’s my complaints. The montone “I don’t know what that means” got pretty annoying. And I’m sorry, anyone who gets shot in both legs over two days, is not doing ANYTHING let alone being a Bruce lee lookalike. Maybe right there in the moment a person might have the strength and adrenaline to keep going. But he got shot twice over two days. Not happening. Narrator for Hector was fine, but for the for the girl was meh. Could have been better. Like I said again tho, was a fine story and worth my time.
