About this listen

The Boys of Summer: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

In 1979, a massive tornado devastates the city of Wichita Falls, Texas, leaving scores dead, thousands homeless, and nine-year-old Todd Willis in a coma, fighting for his life.

Four years later, Todd awakens to a world that looks the same but feels different in a way he can't quite grasp. For Todd, it's a struggle to separate fact from fiction as he battles lingering hallucinations from his long sleep.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Interesting but lacking

The story is interesting, and the writing is similar to Stephen King‘s. I still feel like there should have been more detail as far as the specifics about what special power the tornado gave the characters and what purpose the allusion to the end of the world intended.

Booktrack ruined this book

Booktrack is terrible. The music feels totally random. it gets way too loud. and of you're someone who listens at a higher speed it becomes all distorted and even more distracting. I guess there is a good story here? although with the terrible music I found myself just wanting to skip to the end to find out what happened. I didn't care about any of the characters or their fates enough to continue.

Booktrack is AWFUL!

I could not even finish the story. The music is too random, too loud, and too distracting. The sounds of background noise to fit the story isn't necessary. We have our own imagination. This recorded book was a waste of a perfectly good credit. I will read the reviews before purchasing in future. Avoid.
