About this listen

According to the law of attraction, women and men can't be friends.

Contrary to this myth, my friendship with Coriander Phillips does not rest on unrequited love or un-actualized lust. We've been inseparable since the day I pulled one of her pigtails and she punched me in the gut.

She's hilarious, fun to hang out with. Together, we're like peanut butter and jelly, spaghetti and meatballs, wings and beer. A match made in heaven.

She's the bomb.

Did I mention she's smokin' hot? I've checked her out...maybe once or twice. Hey, I'm a guy.

Seriously, no awkwardness, no secret yearning for our relationship to escalate beyond the purely platonic. I'm the boy friend - the loyal shoulder she cries on, the dispenser of coffee, sympathy, hugs, advice, and affection with no expectations.

Until the invisible line between friends and lovers became blurry.

Now I want more. I want her.

All I have to do is convince her we can be more than friends.

Right?

If only it were that easy.

Friends to lovers...

Can a guy and a girl just be friends? That's the premise of this audiobook story. The main characters have been best friends since childhood, until she tells him about something she really wants- a baby. Starting to see his friend in a new light, the hero struggles with his changing feelings of being insanely attracted to the heroine. I enjoyed this story a lot and narration was well done with blended voices.

A reread; not much changed in audio

I read this in ebook and it’s taken me time to reread in audiobook. Dean was a jerk. Immature and dumb. Man child until the end.

Sigh...such a good story

Excellent story of best friends who suddenly realize that they want more. Hilarious and steamy and enjoyable to the end.

could he should he would he

Dean was the man. Cori was one of his best friends. She was the only female friend he had. She was as close as a sister. Today was the day he sees Cori as more than just his friend. He knows this is not wise. Just one kiss. Just one touch. Just one night.

This was one man's viewpoint of one frustrating, intense friendship to lovers story. He holds nothing back He says it like it qas.He leaves nothing out.

Eric and Kylie gave a performance that allowed you to know it's a male and vice versa for female. I have to say that some times the female voices kinda blended together with a few exceptions. The audio was smooth, clear, well balanced.

Love Dean and Cory!

This is my first book by Mika Jolie and I loved it! Dean narrates de story and the way he “interacts” with the reader is very surprising and interesting. I love the comparisons Dean does and I’ve been laughing and expecting more at every turn. Great read, great story and great narration as well!

Emotions were abound!

5 Crazy Must Listen Stars!!!!!

Hang on for a second here while I continue to hang on the last few threads of my swoon. Gah, Dean! Hmmmm....sigh.

Okay I think the swooning may have subsided enough so I can give this book its due.

The romance package on audible is a glorious thing. While I know Mika on a professional level having done some graphic design work for her, this is my first dive into her works and boy did she take me on one heck of ride.

Emotions were abound! Laughter, smiles, swoons, lots feelings of frustration, some steamy scenes that had me fanning myself and there were even some tears shed.

I’m usually not to keen on male-only POV stories. It’s just a hang up of mine but Mika nailed this. She wrote this in such a way that it felt as if Dean was a real person telling his story.

One of my absolute favorite things an author does is take a character that I really could care less for and turn him around and have me championing for him. Heck, she has me crying for him at one point.

Eric Rolon and Kylie Stewart did an amazing job with the narration. They brought the story and characters to life making it feeling like I was watching a movie (in my head, but a movie nonetheless).

Now that this book whore has a new discovery on her hands, she will be doing some Crazy Ass Stalking to devour more of Ms. Jolie’s works while she waits for Lucas and Kate’s story.

Cute. A bit lengthy.

There was a missed opportunity to get Meredith and Brandon together at the ski vacation but I suppose that would be another story.
Narration was superb and the story was likably cute.

Ugh...

This book definitely needed an editor; or a better one, for content alone. How many years had Dean and Cori known each other? 20? 26? Somewhere in between? Blessedly, I got through this book in 2 hours by skipping right over most of it. The ending was as disappointing as the rest of it.

The narrators sounded like 15 year olds rather than almost 30 year olds, or were they 27, but that is probably more attributable to the story and dialogue than their narration.
