About this listen
Drs. Stephen Pearse and Peter Maryk once worked together to research a horrifying virus outbreak in the Congo. Now Pearse heads the Bureau of Disease Control and Maryk runs the clandestine special pathogens section of the disease detectives - making the 2 scientists bitter enemies. But when the disease from the Congo re-emerges in America, they must set aside their differences in order to stop a potential worldwide epidemic. Using the blood of one woman who is immune to the disease, they create a serum that might work, if the disturbingly cunning virus doesn't have plans of its own.

Wonderful Surprise!
I've never read this author before but had read some of the reviews so I took a chance. I'm glad I did! I was instantly taken in by the story. My only complaint was the quality of the recording. I didn't realize before I purchased it that it wasn't compatible with my current mp3 player. I had to dig out my old one and the recording itself was grainy and difficult to listen to. I never realized how spoiled I had become with the enhanced downloads my current player can accommodate. Still, the story was worth the inconvenience. I would have given it 5 stars if the recording didn't sound so deteriorated.

Super poor sound quality
The story is good but overwhelmed by the poor recording quality. Need to play sections repeatedly to understand the narrator. Sounds like it was made on a speakerphone.

Awesome but...
Awesome story, incredible narration. Thonpson is so fluid in his reading you'll wonder how he does it. I only wish the download sound quality was better and the version unabridged.
