About this listen

I’m the best thing that ever happened to Hope Richardson. She was Hope Meyers before we married five months ago. Up until meeting me, my wife admitted that she’d given up on finding a good man."

Philanderer Xavier Richardson likes his women naive, subservient, and plus-size. Hope Richardson, his wife of five months, is all of the above, in addition to being a homebody who's self-conscious about her weight - something Xavier takes full advantage of.

After attending her husband's class reunion, Hope forms a friendship with socialite and social media influencer Vivica Love, who happens to be an old high school nemesis of Xavier's. As a result, Hope's self-esteem flourishes and is evident in an inner and outer transformation, something her husband isn't too supportive of.

When one of Xavier's past affairs comes back to haunt him, he's forced to face his demons and insecurities in a fight to repair his marriage.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

Best book ever!!! The Best Thing was shockingly good! The story line was phenomenal! If an ain't shyt ninja was a person, it would definitely be Xavier Richardson. This man has officially took the number one spot for the most hated book character ever. OMG, he was so horrible! He did Hope so dirty and she never even had a clue. He lied, he cheated, he stole money out of their joint bank account to take care of his top side chic when he finally decided to commit to her after he cut off all his other side chics. And, that's not even half the shyt Xavier did. When he married Hope she was a BBW which, is how he liked his women. Xavier also liked his women naive, subservient, and to be home bodies. As long as Hope was at home cooking , waiting on him hand and foot, reading a romance novel with no friends insight, he was happy. Now, let me introduce you to Vivica Love. Vivica was Xavier's high school classmate who he use to make fun of. They reunite at their class reunion (a reunion Xavier didn't want to go to by the way) and she proceeds to phuck his life up. Vivica and Hope become friends and she helps poor delusional Hope find her self worth, self esteem, and common sense. But, please don't think Vivica is an angel because she is definitely the villain in this book. There was so much messy drama (the kind of drama I love) and a plot twist at the end that I did NOT see coming. I didn't expect The Best Thing to be as good as it was. I went into this book expecting to give it 2-stars at best and, now, I'd give it 10-stars if I could. William Wells did a great job narrating. Well, his male characters were good but, he needs to work on his female characters. Overall, he did a good job. This was my first book by Bien-Aime Wenda and I definitely look forward to reading more by her.

Absolutely Horrible

Why on earth would this author allow this book to end like this....this was a terrible situation....The Narrator....Just Bad!!! He sounded like a kindergartener learning to read....I didn't like this because there was a child was involved...i really didn't like the fact that he was never allowed to be apart of his child's life because of his wife's "friend"....If a child had not been involved, perhaps I'd have a different perspective.... I just didn’t like this at all! This was just too messy for me and the type of contemporary romance novels that I usually read...this was definitely not romance. If you're looking for infidelity, messy, and revenge...then this is definitely the book for you!
