I've enjoyed most of this author's work, but I've always found the first 75% (or close to it) of each book to be superior to what follows. This tale began with a vivid, realistic description of a woman slowly realizing that she was being being harmed by a con artist. Her preoccupied husband, whom she looks to for support, dismisses her fears and suggests she seek psychiatric help. What a great premise for a page-turner! I guess it's hard to keep up this level of realism until the conclusion.

One critique of the performance: It would have been better to have had a narrator who could do an American accent when called for.

Fast-paced and engaging

Thid is My favorite narrator first, I search for books she narrates.. Secondly this book was a great listen. Never a dull moment. worth the credit! First time with the author I'll be looking at other books she's written.

Twista!

As an avid reader of the genre, this is one of the better written novels by this author. No one writes twists the way that she does, and without giving spoilers, her portrayal of the protagonist was amazing. One of the more intriguing antagonists that I have read in a long while.

Very exciting read!

It wasn’t my favorite plot, but kept me entertained. I love Katie Villa. She is one of my favorite narrators, but I discovered in this book that she cannot do an American accent. Still love her though! I didn’t use a credit for this book I got it on sale, so had I used one of my coveted credits I may have been more disappointed. But for the value I paid, it definitely kept me interested and had a nice try the ending which I love.

Not terrible

Overall a good story with a twist. A bit longer than it needed to be though, some things are unnecessarily detailed

Classic psychological thriller

There were SO many times throughout this book that I felt like stopping & returning it. The narrator was wonderful but the story was very predictable. Louisa was so frustrating. How can anyone be that naive????

I wanted to love it

Good story and narrator kept me interested. Maybe a little predictable but still worth the credit.
