About this listen

She thought it was love.

Rose Romanov is a mafia princess, and everything that entails. Violently over-protective parents. A giant extended family, all ready to kill anyone who looks at her wrong. Learning to run a business that isn’t exactly on the right side of the law. So, naturally, when she meets a nice guy who isn’t in the life, she falls hard...Right up until the she discovers her new boyfriend isn’t a civilian at all.

But he betrayed her.

When Dante Verducci was sent on an undercover mission to evaluate the Romanov family for weakness, he never expected to have an instant connection with their unlikely heir. There’s something fierce and feral about Rose that calls to him. They’re alike, even if they’re both lying to each other during the months they date. Before he could figure out a new plan, Rose finds out who he really is, dumps him, and immediately enters an engagement with the heir of a rival family. Yeah, no, that’s not going to work for Dante.

Now he’ll do anything to reclaim her. Even go to war.

Need more

This is a Pre-Sequel for the O'Malley series and it touches on the four girls of Dimitri Romanoff and Cara O'Malley the youngest daughter of the O'Malley and it kind of goes back to where when Carrigan O'Malley falls in love with James and it just keeps you on your seat it's the story of will they won't they mostly and you see yourself hoping that they do get together because you want her to get together and be enough forbidden relationship just like her aunt did with Jude McNamara. I like it a lot, please I need more books

Disappointed because I had high hopes.

The first half was good. The second half involved way too many characters. I actually did not care how it finished because it bored me. The character development between Dante and Rose was established before page 1. I never got to experience them fall in love. I never felt the connection other than Dante constantly repeating “You’re mine” to convince the listener. Also, the ages of the O’Malleys were wrong with Rose’s age of 27 and still there were 3 younger siblings. The math did not add up. The narrator gave mom, Kiera a strong Russian accent rather than her original Irish one. I was expecting more spice like the O’Malley series. It was not worthy of my credit.
