Publisher's summary

Steve Berry's short story finds an adventurer in a strange and forbidding land, in search of a long lost treasure, and very much in harm's way.

As a favor to enigmatic billionaire Henrik Thorvaldsen, Cassiopeia Vitt treks into Bulgaria's Rila mountains in search of a buried stash of exceedingly rare artifacts from a bygone civilization: the ancient tomb of a Thracian king. But when her presence is discovered by a shadowy group of Russians secretly mining the area, she needs a way out. Who to trust becomes the question, and her life depends on choosing the right option.

Worth a listen.

I haven't listened to anything by Steve Berry and bought it because I like the narrator. I am glad - I enjoyed the w ritting style quite a bit.

Short and sweet.

Sometimes I love a good short story that I can enjoy while folding laundry or running errands. I can't complain about the length of this story. It's complete and as usual Scott Brick's reading is fabulous. I'll be picking up the Emperor's Tomb. I wouldn't use a credit for something so short, but a few dollars out of pocket? Absolutely!

short and effective

This is the first Cassiopeia Vitt short. While it does act as a lead in for the next Cotton Malone novel, it is still an effective little thriller. No fuss no muss. Just straight up action story, practically from sentence one. I found nothing negative to say about it. Recommended for all... prior knowledge is handy but hardly required. Enjoyable if a bit short.

Mystery tied to history

I enjoy mystery tied to history. This is a short prequel to a longer novel, The Emperor’s Tomb. Looking forward to reading/listening to the full novel. I know that anything written by Steve Berry is good.

Too Short

This was less of a "short story" and more of a prologue to another novel.

Great Short Story

This was the perfect filler between two longer listens. All the action you expect with a good storyline. You also get to meet a new character, so the book is a teaser also.

Intro to Steve Berry & Cassiopeia Vitt

I saw this short story and thought it would be a nice introduction to an author I have heard about, but never read. This was an interesting and exciting short story about a character that was going to be introduced into one of the author's series. I liked the story, the writing and the character and will check out her novella series. Scott Brick is fabulous on narration as always.

Too short.

A very nice teaser toward a future book, introducing concepts and characters. As always Brick is a masterful narrator and draws the listener in. I look forward to the full length book
