Great book need a younger reader

Great book in need of a younger reader or less mature sounding reader. But still a great Christian novel and well read.

Too pushy

Overall a good read. I felt the abortion issue was pushed then shoved in our faces and it was secondary in the story. It was a wonderful story just too pushy.

Candid look at abortion

A young co-ed becomes pregnant after being raped, and forced to consider her options . This book examines all of the options, opinions, struggles, and strength of not only the victim, but of professionals, family members, clergy, counsellors, and the young man she plans to marry. Well written, but not exactly a bedtime story for those who depend on audio books to lull them to sleep. Still, a good and informative read.

This book took me through some emotions!

Wow! I can’t lie to you. I am sitting at my desk at work literally crying as I finish this book. It struck a cord deep within and after finishing it, I’m left feeling a little vulnerable, but grateful for the reminder of God’s love and forgiveness, which is really the basis of the book.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone. However, i don’t think it will have the same effect on everyone. I think you have to have an open heart to truly appreciate the story. Otherwise, I think it would make you feel judged and persecuted.

The Atonement Child

While the majority says abortion is a woman’s sacred right, even those on the other side of the argument, struggle with an unwanted pregnancy as a result of rape. Francine Rivers book does a great job of dealing with this.

Overall a good read

I love Rivers books and have read many of them. This was a good story with a pro-life message but sometimes seemed to push it on reader in cheesy ways (like the grandmothers group of friends conversations). I still enjoyed the story but predicted ending very shortly into book.

Wow! What a story. Rivers always twists and turns to be fresh in the plot. Excellent coverage of the dilemma of unwanted pregnancies and the ripple effect on generations. Highly recommend.
