About this listen
A mission to free a world from the Kleese has gone terribly wrong. Lieutenant Ryan Nelson and his Marines are trapped with no hope of rescue.
On the Kleese home world, a division grows between the regular Kleese and the militaristic Zaltule.
The war against the Kleese intensifies as the human-led Alliance attempts a daring attack against the heart of the Kleese Empire. If the mission succeeds, it will be a great victory for the Alliance. If it fails, it will mean the end of freedom for all the races of the galaxy and the end of human life.

Story
To the Kleese, the Earth is nothing more than a planet full of conscripts to fight in their numerous wars of aggression. The Kleese are one of three large Galactic Empires that control the majority of the galaxy. To them, Earth is an extremely dangerous planet due to the aggressiveness of the humanoid species that inhabits it. The humans that inhabit Earth will make excellent conscripts, but something must be done to prevent them from expanding out into the galaxy.

Story
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Story
The Trellixian Empire was constantly expanding, seeking new worlds for its ever-increasing population. If worlds were discovered with existing sentient populations, they were cleansed to make room for colonization. Hundreds of budding civilizations had been eliminated by Trellixian battle fleets. On Earth, years in the past, a scout ship fleeing from the Trellixians crashed. Scientists investigating the wreckage discovered what the Trellixians had done to the world the scout ship escaped from. They also discovered it was only a matter of time before the Trellixians reached Earth.

Story
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Story
Earth is no longer the center of the universe. After the invention of the faster-than-light jump drive, humanity is rapidly establishing new colonies. But the vast distances of space mean that the old order of protection and interstellar law offered by Earth has ceased to exist. When a nearby world attacks, the new colony of Glenlyon turns to Robert Geary, a young former junior fleet officer, and Mele Darcy, a onetime enlisted marine.

GREAT BOOK !!!!
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Less sexism, also if the Author stopped endlessly repeating himself that would be good too. A good general plot ruined by poor dialogue and unnecessary over explanations of thing that would be obvious to all but the authors most dim witted readers. What could Raymond L. Weil have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Have a more enlightened attitude towards women. These are meant to be elite Earth space marines yet he writes the women as flighty, insecure, delicate flowers in need of a mans protection with nothing on their brains but men and babies. What aspect of Liam Owen’s performance would you have changed?
The sound of his voice. What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Annoyance. GratingThe misogyny just got too much for me.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
What disappointed you about The Alliance?
Same words and phases repeated way too many times. What about Liam Owen’s performance did you like?
Better than the one before but still could improveWhat character would you cut from The Alliance?
The vermin from every bad character mentioned at least 500 times in each bookBetter but still repeats over and over
