Acerca de esta escucha

No one has set foot on Earth in centuries - until now.

Ever since a devastating nuclear war, humanity has lived on spaceships far above Earth's radioactive surface. Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents - considered expendable by society - are being sent on a dangerous mission: to recolonize the planet. It could be their second chance at life...or it could be a suicide mission.

Clarke was arrested for treason, though she's haunted by the memory of what she really did. Wells, the chancellor's son, came to Earth for the girl he loves - but will she ever forgive him? Reckless Bellamy fought his way onto the transport pod to protect his sister, the other half of the only pair of siblings in the universe. And Glass managed to escape back onto the ship, only to find that life there is just as dangerous as she feared it would be on Earth.

Confronted with a savage land and haunted by secrets from their pasts, the hundred must fight to survive. They were never meant to be heroes, but they may be mankind's last hope.

After watching the show I just had to find the book. I would say I enjoy the show more then the book, but if I just focus on the book it was still an interesting plot with different characters.
Would you recommend it to someone else?
I would yeah, you don't have to be into science fiction to enjoy this book, although it has the typical Y/A writing and plot so if you're not into those this isn't for you. I am not one of those big romantic people, I don't like flat out romantic books where it's the main thing, this has the right amount of romance, and with interesting characters.
What were one of the more negative things in the book?
There was moments where you were unsure what they were talking about, or more like when they are talking about stuff. The flashbacks came out of no where with nothing to give you a heads up. I don't know if this is due to the author or the narrators who didn't let you know when they would change between now and flashbacks
All and all it is a good book with an interesting story and I will continue on the second book.

This is one of my very favorite stories. The performances from both narrators is on point. Kass Morgan created a great universe.

Loved it!

As some one who writes YA. I found the characters just kinda there. Maybe its the performance but the emotion in the words never seems protrayed properly. The nareators are clear and precise, but just kinda lack emotion. For such heavy material I feel like it could of been done much better. Tho I find most of the character reactions and line well written and never out of place.
I am a fan of the world building in the story immensley its my faveorite part. So many interesting ideas brought up. the insite in how the government works. its brilliant.

I do understand this is YA

ALMOST always The original book variations of a TV show is far superior. I enjoy the TV show the 100, so I thought I'd give the book a listen. it's far to early to tell which is better. the story is fairly easy to listen too. the voice actors are meh. all in all, its just fine EXCEPT, GLASS. oh my lord. this instead of numerical chapters, each chapter is from the POV of an individual or their storyline. this ENTIRE book, from start to finish, only getting somewhat interesting literally at the very end. every GLASS chapter was written like a romance novel, worse since its teenagers. which sure romance is fine but it just goes on and on and on hearing the author describe how pathetically glass loves Luke and how much Luke loves glass and then a little drama and back to how obsessed they are and describing their love over n over n over. I almost stopped listening all together but I'm holding out that GLASS will turn into an interesting character.

I'm here because of the TV show.

needs to be a little more scientific, and a little less romantic. overall a great story

great story

The plot jumps around a lot to try to build up each character. Narration and feeling is too childish;

I was very disappointed in the book after seeing the TV series. the series was very developed and the book was just touching the surface. There were a ton of differences that I did not think were as good.

Great idea

First off, it should be stated that while the tv show is (obviously) similar to the book, they are very separate entities and thus separate experiences. In certain ways, the book was more enjoyable for me and in others, i think the tv show developed parts better.
There are 4 different perspectives, which makes the flow a bit slow but nonetheless enjoyable. While i found it sweet, Glass’s storyline is rather unnecessary since her experience is distinctly separate from the other 3.
The writing reads pretty smoothly, but can become janky at times, especially with the flashback hopping the story constantly does, which because pretty redundant towards the latter chapters.
The cliff hanger is really great i think (minus Glass’s…again, it just doesn’t serve a valid enough point to the overall narrative—i could turn out to be wrong though).
I hope we get more fleshed out and distinctive characters in the following books as well as more interaction. Primarily, Glass and Wells better reunite cause we need some happy bff energy.
While i love romance, the immediate intro of a love triangle, and subsequent collapse seemed poorly executed. Well’s and Clarke’s dynamic seems too confused and Clarke and Bellamy’s weird attraction has aspects of insta-love.
However, all my worries and criticisms may be for naught. This is a good introductory book and the concept is exceptional!

Solid Book
