When Danielle Boatman inherits Marlow House, she dreams of turning it into a seaside bed and breakfast. Since she's never visited the property, Danielle's not sure what awaits her in Oregon. She certainly doesn't expect to find one of the house's previous owners still in residence. After all, the man has been dead for almost 90 years - shouldn't he have moved on by now? Charming Walt Marlow convinces Danielle the only way he can move on is if she solves the mystery of his death.

Enjoyable
I think this was the 5th book in the series, with a new one coming out soon. Each has improved upon the previous one. These 'cozy' historical novels are quite enjoyable & you can tell the author loves language & grammar. If you are needing a quick, lighthearted listen, l recommend the 'Mercy Allcutt series.

Narrator C-, Story B, Holiday Mystety
Plot reminds me of a 1930's screwball mystery comedy movie, complete with seance, in this comedic mystery set in 1926 Pasadena.
I did not care for this narrator because of the voice she chose for the heroine. Her secondary characters did not bother me as much.

Good Series
LA has changed Mercy and it looks like things are different with her mother in their winter home in California. Ernie gave her a week off for thanksgiving to spend with her folks. And her mother is holding a seance. Then the mayhem and murder begin, A delightful series, and one loves the character of Mercy. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

The story was good, but the narration was terrible
I enjoyed the story, and I only bought this because it had Daisy in it from the other series, but the narrator reads it like a book instead of performing it. The women sound like men, well, the side character women all sound like men. It sounds like one of my 10th graders reading in class. If she did get better toward the end, but this needs some work!
