The Blether
About this listen
This book was made for the many decent guys who come to Thailand for whatever reason and find themselves ensnared in a nightmare. This book will save some of you guys a fortune - and it's going to stop you from falling into the traps that have caught up with so many guys before you. You decent guys don't deserve derision - you deserve to know what's going on around you. You need to know what to look out for and when to extricate yourself from a situation.
The Vicious Truth About Thai Hookers is a book that deals with a rough subject - one that seems to get beneath the skin of some. Not a single experienced Thai expat would disagree with the advice you'll hear, especially in the last chapter. That chapter alone could save you a fortune, your sanity, your self-esteem, and, in some cases, even your life. You'll hear about the guys who were murdered by their Thai partners and some who were scammed of nearly their whole life savings.

The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

This book helped me find a great wife/ avoid traps
I've been in Thailand 4 years and married to a lovely Chinese-Thai wife for 3 of them. This book set helped me avoid traps, problems, scams and to find a great Thai partner. Without this book, I can say almost certainly I would not be living in Thailand successfully or even at all possibly.

Informative and clear
at first I'm not going to lie, I thought it was more of a negative type of book because of all the bad things pointed out against tourists, hookers, and the nightlife in Thailand. by the end of the book, series, my eyes were opened to the fact that often being a "good guy" is the same in the west as it is in the east.

SOME good advice but a lot of subjective opinion
The person has some knowledge and experience, and there is some good information and advice in there, but a lot of over dramatization, and bad generalizations based upon personal experiences, and third and fourth party stories.
The guy berates people at the start for being naive and deluded, but he himself has gone the way a lot of “farang” expats who hang around in that world do, becoming jaded, disgruntled, negative and self appointed experts on Thailand and Thai people.
The clues come quick and early, with his use of a narrator who has trouble pronouncing Thai place names properly and even most of the Thai language he attempts to use... Also the unnecessary use of profanity.
He quotes his research sources extensively, but these are often girlfriends, other expats, or Thai people he probably paid to research for him, who most likely had to pay in some way for the information they got, and from sources that he himself explains are professional hookers who lie and deceive for money!
Read for light entertainment, and less so for a calm objective education on the subject.
UPDATE - Actually got worse as I revisited and listened more closely. Where do you get off saying "there is no reason for women to be in the sex trade other than greed"!!!!! You are in no position to make sweeping condemning generalizations like that! When was the last time you found yourself with perhaps an almost non-existent education, no skills, and maybe watching your nearest and dearest starving, or dying from painful injuries or illnesses?!!! All this in an environment that treats women as 2nd class citizens and given options of ridiculously low paid farm or factory work! Some are also sold into it or forced into it under the threat or actual infliction of violence!!!! In that sentence alone you demonstrate your inability to comprehend the complexities of what you are spouting about, and your book now deserve less than 1 Star!

This guy “writer” is a jackass.
The “writer,” is a pretentious jackass. Most of this recording was just repeated redundancies to act as filler for a lack of information . Don’t waste your time or credits on this crap.

Don't waste your credits !
The author paints with such broad brush strokes in this story and half this book is spent advertising for his other books and downloads ! He is constantly trying to get you to download and buy other products . The narrator is HORRIBLE and literally pronounced every Thai word and city wrong ! Which tells me this was lazily put together in an attempt to make some quick cash , the author must be having a hard time funding his life in the LOS . I thought this would be a fun audiobook as I lived and worked awhile in LOS but this was just some info combined with many sales pitch to buy his other stuff .
