“The best story I’ve read in a long, long time."—Lacy Crawford, author of Notes on a Silencing

“Krouse’s vivid and original memoir is state of the art. Tell Me Everything is our new standard.”—Charles D’Ambrosio, author of Loitering

Part memoir and part literary true crime, Tell Me Everything is the mesmerizing story of a landmark sexual assault investigation and the female private investigator who helped crack it open.

Erika Krouse has one of those faces. “I don’t know why I’m telling you this,” people say, spilling confessions. In fall 2002, Erika accepts a new contract job investigating lawsuits as a private investigator. The role seems perfect for her, but she quickly realizes she has no idea what she’s doing. Then a lawyer named Grayson assigns her to investigate a sexual assault, a college student who was attacked by football players and recruits at a party a year earlier. Erika knows she should turn the assignment down. Her own history with sexual violence makes it all too personal. But she takes the job anyway, inspired by Grayson’s conviction that he could help change things forever. And maybe she could, too.

Over the next five years, Erika learns everything she can about P. I. technique, tracking down witnesses and investigating a culture of sexual assault and harassment ingrained in the university’s football program. But as the investigation grows into a national scandal and a historic civil rights case, Erika finds herself increasingly consumed. When the case and her life both implode at the same time, Erika must figure out how to help win the case without losing herself.

Must read for all NCAA athletes and coaches!

Krouse weaves the story she is unearthing with her personal history in such an amazing way. Her style lets the reader judge each suspect, each witness, each victim on the truth they live. She has a familiar face. Her story is anything but familiar.
Gabra Zackman gives voices and real emotional energy to the book. A+ for the performance!!!

Tell me everything

Great narrator. The main story is worth listening as were the author's own story, perspective and insights. Extra weather reports went a bit long...

A compelling story

Story of the author and her mother was sad. Mother always rejecting her and refusing to believe what was going on in her own home was terrible.

Nonfiction that reads like richly colorful fiction

The most engaging book you will read all year. Truths and secrets without covers, veils.

Great story. Superb writing

A story about how institutions become corrupt and can, occasionally, be changed. A real life memoir – legal thriller.

Unique true crime memoir

An impressive true crime memoir from a novelist turned private eye investigating the rape cases from the university of Colorado back in the aughts.

This can at times read like a first person novel, really a tremendous piece of true crime work, one that should be hailed as a kind of a classic.

The Novel is Horrifyingly Realistic

Part memoir and partly a novel, the story is compellingly realistic. The narrator is exceptional in her delivery making it hard to realize she isn't the actual first person voice. The writer navigates the telling of her story with beautiful turns of phrase and elaborate detail. Simply stated, she talks pretty, even while speaking the ugly truth.
