Publisher's summary

J. R. Rain here. When I get email regarding my books, more often than not that mail consists of a single question: Who's Fang? Fang, for those of you who have not read my vampire mystery novel Moon Dance, is Samantha Moon's online confidant. Although I always suspected his role would expand in future books, little is explained about who Fang is or where he comes from. Well, consider his role expanded. At least for the time being. Teeth is his story. Or, rather, his backstory, in which the question is asked: What happens when a child is born with a rare throwback gene, a gene that produces two exceptionally long teeth?

Also included in the collection: "My Father's Eyes" - Death comes to a small bar in Los Angeles...and orders a beer. "The Fridge" - A man buying a state-of-the-art refrigerator gets much more than he bargained for. "Die Spy" - A spy very much comes out of the cold. "Step on a Crack" - An old curse gets a very real update. "Two Ghosts" - In which two lost souls finally come together.

Not a stand along book

It is a great little stories to give some background if you are reading the series.

Vomit on a page would have been better...

Don't bother listening to this.....use your imagination and come up with your own idea of Fang's story. This was worse than bad. What a waste of the bargain price of 3.96. I should have listened to the other reviews but I really liked the series.

Disappointed

What disappointed you about Teeth?

I had already listened to Fang's story (Teeth) in Vampire for Hire: The Short Stories so I got this audio to listen to the other short stories. Unfortunately I didn't really like the other short stories. I didn't even understand what was going on in at least one of them, although that might be because I sort of stopped listening. If you like the Vampire for Hire series and want to hear Fang's story I would suggest getting Vampire for Hire: The Short Stories. The other stories in that audio were about Samantha Moon and a lot more interesting.

Would you ever listen to anything by J. R. Rain again?

Yes. I just didn't care for the other short stories after Teeth.

Narrator reads like an announcer

I gave this book another try and I managed to finish it but I was not impressed with the story lines. The narrator read like he was a radio announcer and did very little to segue from character to character. I do not believe it was necessary to provide a back story for Fang as what this book did could have been done by small narratives in the ongoing series. The narrator did not help this book at all and the story was very thin. Thin back stories tend to annoy me so I am very disappointed by this author's efforts.
