Publisher's summary

The follow-up to the best-selling The Power of Zero, providing a blueprint to build a guaranteed, tax-free income stream that lasts for the long run.

American retirees face a looming crisis. We are living longer than ever before, and most experts predict a dramatic rise in tax rates within the next 10 years. The hard truth is that no matter how much you save, you are likely to outlive your money or watch it be taxed into oblivion. But when traditional retirement distribution strategies won't provide sufficient income in the face of higher taxes, what can you do?

Tax-Free Income for Life lays out a strategy that guarantees a secure retirement. McKnight shows how the combination of guaranteed, inflation-adjusted lifetime income and a proactive asset-shifting strategy can shield you from longevity risk and the cascade of unintended consequences that result from higher taxes.

If ever there were a solution for the American retiree, it's guaranteed tax-free income for life.

New Approach to Tax Free Income Streams

The author does a good job of educating the reader on new ways to create tax free income streams in retirement and the step by step process to follow. I learned a lot of new information and enjoyed it.

Outstanding

Well delivered and easily understood
NO one has aCrystal Ball but David has been studying this for years I trust his judgment above most. I met David in Des Moines Iowa during the release of The Power of Zero and I could feel the passion he has to help retirees get out of the way of the crushing tax train headed towards every retiree’s life

Insightful and Urgent

The book is honest about the financial condition we face as a nation. There’s no sugar coating that. It’s not a pleasant conversation but can’t be avoided. More important is how the prevailing financial situation of our country could dramatically impact our retirement hopes and dreams. It does seem qualified plans have a huge target on them that the government would love to take aim at. The strategies in this book appear sound in being able to do something to guard against those threats we all face: rising taxes, increasing longevity, negative legislation, and negative volatility during the income phase of retirement. Thoroughly enjoyed the discussion. I just wish we had a bit more time for the discussion on the solution side of the equation, but valuable nonetheless!

Good examples throughout

I liked this book for the examples given to create a better understanding of what and when to manage your dedicated retirement funds. I recommend having a basic knowledge of your retirement plan before listening to help broaden your perspective.

Great information - but it’s to much information

I think the concept of this book is great - however I also believe most readers won’t be able to keep up with the terminology and insight. It seems like it written to sell people on LIRPS and also advertise the authors website. Not a great book - but an ok book

This is a wasted credit on a mislabeled book.

This was a compmete waste of time and money. The book logic is to prepay all taxes at the highest over estimated levels to fear monger people with the threat of making sure you don't have to pay higher taxes later and to save your social security check. What trash. The money is not tax free at all. It's taxes paid in full up front to deplete your available money for investment and growth during retirement. Any fool afraid of the IRS can do this nonsense. Apparently tax free means pre paying overestimated taxes according to this book. Don't waste your time or money with this book.
