Publisher's summary

This caged Kalixian is wild. Brutal. Dangerous.

So, why can’t I stay away from him?

With the marks tattooed on his face and horns sharpened to deadly points, he looks like a monster made for killing. He’s unlike any of the other alien warriors on this planet, and despite their efforts to help him, he only seems to be growing more feral.

But every time I go to visit him, something strange happens.

He stops pacing.

He goes still.

He stares at me.

When his bright golden eyes focus on me, it’s like every layer of armor I’ve ever worn is peeled away. Even though he can’t understand a word I say, I swear he...sees me.

In those moments, I’m certain I can glimpse the man inside the beast. I’m certain there’s more to him than just violence and rage.

But when disaster strikes one day and I find myself on the run with the savage Kalixian, everything I think I know about him is put to the test. Can I truly trust this man? Can he keep me safe in this perilous landscape?

Or is he the most dangerous thing in the wilds of Kalix?

Tamed is a full-length stand-alone sci-fi romance featuring hot alien gladiators with huge horns, a sweet heroine with a broken heart, and a gruff, dangerous hero who softens only for his fated mate.

If you like hot aliens, sweeping adventure, and steamy romance, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliff-hanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: Each book in the series can be listened to as a stand-alone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be listened to in order.

Story Was Fine

This storyline was deep; it covered severe PTSD, lack of communication, and misunderstandings; much of what is going on in the world today. It showed us what love, hope, patience, and understanding will bring if we embrace and help rather than grow suspicion and repel what we do not understand. It took a minute to warm up to the female narrators, but once I did, the story flowed much better.

Good but

I really loved this story. It was so sad what happened to the male character. In the beginning there was no much conversation,,but the writer did a good job with the story. I enjoyed it, but the female narrator was awful wow. But because I loved the story so much I let it go.

not her best work

normally really enjoy her books in this seriers. this one was a huge disappointment. characters were flat, 2D, and only ever said the perfect things at the perfect times. no personality. I couldnt even discern that the main female character was a woman of color other than the words "her skin is darker than mine". this book needed more research effort.

Disappointing

The story could’ve been told in an hour or two. It was pretty much all about lovemaking in the woods. I was able to skip chapters & parts of chapters and still retain the gist of the story. Up to now, I’ve read all nine books in the series but I don’t think I’ll go any further. Even the epilogue (which normally lures me into reading the next book) was disappointing and it was all about a ‘woes is me’ and nothing more. Even the narrator was disappointing.

Good but not what I hoped for

The story is ok. I like the male character and knew his slave story would be straightforward, but I expected a bit more agency from him which didn't really materialize. The female character was not at all what I expected based on the Epilogue from the last book. Not bad, just more basic and subdued than expected.

I was hoping (expecting) edgier characters and more self expression and instead it was more falling into the norm. All of which is ok and still made for a good love story.

I'm not a big fan of Joy Beharie's narration style. It seemed too stilted and at times near the end I had a hard time hearing the switch in inflection/tone to signal different characters talking. I appreciate the variety, just wanted her voice to me more fluid with the story telling.
