Publisher's summary

When her dad is transferred, Rachel Wood is uprooted from her home in Pennsylvania and forced to enter a new high school in 10th grade, in an affluent suburb in Westchester, New York. She finds herself in way over her head as she struggles to come to grips with meeting new friends, finding a boyfriend, avoiding the cliques of mean girls, and figuring out how to survive in such a hostile, new world. She has trouble navigating this new world, where drinking and drugs seem to be the norm and social pressures build on her from every direction.

Everything seems to go wrong for Rachel, until salvation comes in the form of Rob, a football player, who takes a liking to her. But just as romance is about to blossom, she finds herself confused by his actions.

As things reach a low point, Rachel meets a mysterious boy from her school, Benji, a loner who keeps apart from the other kids and who takes her on a ride on his motorcycle. They have an unforgettable night together in an amusement park - until something goes horribly wrong, and Benji shocks her by saving her life.

Rachel knows that Benji is different from everyone else, and she knows that he is the love of her life. And as their romance deepens, she has to decide if she is willing to give up everything to find out his secret....

Just bad

There are two types of YA novels. Ones that are as well written as adult novels, but with a PG-13 rating, and ones that seem as if they were written by someone in middle school. The writing style was immature, the main character was annoying, the love story is sudden and makes no real sense, random PSA about smoking and drinking was shoehorned into the story, and there is no hint of vampires or anything supernatural till the very end. The narrator does her best, but there isn’t a lot here to work with.

Somewhat predictable but GOOD

I almost stopped listening a few times as the plot because predictable, however it started to heat up BIG TIME, and I was ALL IN.

Bad narration

I don't like giving bad reviews, but the narration is absolutely horrible. I would not recommend wasting your money.

Teen Angst

if you love Teen Angst, then the long narratives will thrill you. But if you were looking for either romance or vampires, not so much. Unless you view Romance as a 10th grade girl falling "in love", and "I know this will be the one", repeatedly. Seriously, do 10th grade girls really behave this way? I kept waiting for the "action", for the moment the vampire burst forth in all his glory, or gory. I thought the book would be much different.

A new vampire series similar to Morgan rice's Vamp

Its very similar to Ms. Morgan Rice's Vampire Series and same cover art on her books but whether or not its actually a new author or not I am not sure. It also has a twilight feel to the story especially the last few chapters of book one. I just know I enjoyed listening to it and cant wait to get more into the actual vampire part of the series because most of this book is about an average girls story as she moves to a new state and meets new people at her new school so I can't wait to have it pay off in the next book and hopefully audible will continue to get the rest of the series on audiobook because I am fully invested.
I will continue reviewing my feedback for this series on each book that is released including her 2nd book in this series that is recorded and available on audible right now. So check back with me later on my listener page or under book 2s feedback section on audible for my take on book 2 and more !!!💖📚🙂
