Enemies to lovers, well sort of of. Cara starts off disliking Braxton based on the fact he's a baseball player and some conclusions she has come to without knowing him. I have to admit I liked Braxton right away but Cara not so much. I found her to be a hypocrite at first. They both have past relationship issues and drama that they deal with throughout the book. Overall I enjoyed the story and it was because I was team Braxton! Lots of great side characters.

Narration was great! The male narrator is new to me but has the perfect college age voice. 5 STARS for both.

I received this audiobook from @theflockvipreviewteam the narration team on this book is amazing. You instantly feel connected to the characters just through the narration. The story itself is a becoming of age college romance. Right off the bat you feel a connection with each character. I would enjoy to listen to the other characters stories as well if a series is developed. I enjoyed the sports romance and the strong female lead. It is refreshing to not have a man rescue the female characters. This story allows them to grow together and I hope their story continues.

Absolutely wonderful start to this new series. Enemies to lovers, sometimes our bad choices are just what we need! Love Cara and Braxton's story and look forward to more from Kimberly Readnour!
The narration is absolute perfect. Sarah and Chris bring a spark and life to the story!

I usually don’t do the sports type books, but I took a chance on this one. I can say that I had zero disappointment! This book kept my interest an entire 9 hour car ride and I spent the first few hours of my vacation listening! My husband was even all in it! Braxton and Cara’s banter made me laugh so many times and was honestly my favorite part of the book!

For the love of baseball, this was a great story to listen to especially during these times where its a summer of no baseball due to circumstances. I really enjoyed this drama filled, angst filled college romance. I look forward to more in the series to hear the other character's story and to find out how life is going with Braxton and Cara. Sara ad Chris do a great job!

This is the first book I've read by Kimberly Readnour but definitely won't be the last. I binged this audio and probably would have stayed up way too late if I didn't have to work in the morning. Enemies to lovers is one of the tropes I enjoy quite a bit, same this sports romances, throw in an adorable dog and this book was awesome. I loved the banter between Cara and Braxton. Both are smart and funny that made Swinging Strike a winner.

This was my first Kimberly Readnour's book, but won't be my last. This is the first book and a great introduction to the Cessna U Wildcarts Series, a sweet College Sports Romance. Braxton is a handsome and sexy baseball player, but after a bad experience, he has some trust issues. Cara is beautiful, and independent. She has some prejudices against athletes. They share an undeniable attraction, but they have a complicated relationship, exacerbated by a lack of communication. The storyline is filled with secrets, angst, gossips, lies, and twists and turns. The secondary characters are great and intriguing. Miller, the dog, is a sweet addition to the story. Sarah Puckett and Chris Brinkley did a good job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Behind the Count, Noah and Shannon's story. #AudiobookObsessionVIPreviewer

This is so much more than just a college sports romance. It is truly a wonderful listen to start off a new series and I look forward to listening to more. Sarah Puckett and Chris Brinkley made the book come alive - great narration.

Wow, this is an awesome new adult sports romance. I found the story captivating from start to end. I enjoyed Kimberly Readnour’s writing style, she created storylines and characters that are realistic and easy to relate to. I liked both lead characters, each had their own issues and hangups and were set in their ways. Cara Gonzalez transferred to Cessna University, she is keeping the fact that her brother is a professional baseball player to herself, she wants a new start and does not want to be known as A.J.’s sister or to be used to get closer to him. She was burnt bad by her cheating ex-boyfriend, who was also a ballplayer and that left a bad taste in her mouth for all male athletes. With a minor in communication she is assigned to write for the school paper, her assignment is to write a gossip column. She was put to work before classes started but she found the perfect candidate for her first rumor column, Braxton Smith the hot jock. Braxton is a star player on the school’s baseball team, he is expected to get picked for a professional team in the draft this year. He is not just a jock, he is a smart jock and when he lands in the same class Cara he likes what he sees, she sparks not just an interest but something inside of him, but she wants nothing to do with him. I loved the back and forth between them and how he would not give up on her. The two were great together and for each other, but each held back their secrets and own inner battles. Things start to heat up for the two but can they survive when their secrets are revealed and the truths come out. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt moments and some hot romance. In addition to the great lead characters there are some great secondary characters and I am looking forward to hearing more about them as well. Thank you for this awesome story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

Sarah Puckett and Chris Brinkley are fabulous narrators and voice performers. They do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, humanizing them with their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. I adored Sarah Puckett’s Cara, she truly captured her persona, Chris Brinkley’s Braxton was perfection too. They did a great job with all the secondary characters too. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
