Now a New York Times best seller!

Happily-ever-after only happens once in a lifetime, right? But what if Prince Charming runs for the hills at the first sign of trouble and leaves you to pick up the pieces?

Thinking her marriage was over, Tessa was more than a little shocked to fall into the arms of her husband (literally) at a party she'd planned through her new company, Decadent Events. When he asks her out for coffee, she assumes it's to sign the divorce papers he'd seen. What's a girl to do when her heart still goes pitter-patter for a man who ran out on her six months after they made their forever vows but comes back asking for another chance?

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Steena Holmes enjoy the first story in her Love So Sweet series - where the recipe for romance contains chocolate, sweet love, and happily-ever-afters. Whether it's a flickering flame in a marriage that's about to be rekindled, or a secret love that is shared, you'll find it in the small town of Banff where Decadent Events is located.

Tessa & Jude

Tessa and Jude have a serious issue of a lack of communication. Neither says what they are thinking or feeling and leave too much for the other to guess.

not compelling enough

I am not sure why but I wasn't sympathetic enough especially to our hero. I still do not get why he suddenly walked away. Even having 2 narrators when the story is written in 3rd POV was beyond me.

Frustrating

I’m glad this is free with my subscription because it’s disappointing. I don’t like the plot of big misunderstandings breaking up a relationship in the first place but I was hoping there was a good reason behind the husband leaving and for him to grovel when he returned. Neither happened. The male MC got jealous and insecure over a voice message and left without talking to his wife about it. When he returned some months later, he kept putting off his explanations until threatened with divorce. Once he did, wife takes him back right away. That was it. No grand gesture, no grovel, no promises that he won’t do the same thing. Ugh!

Voice actors were okay.

quick and cute

Not really my kind of story but it was a quick cute tear jerker. I found it hard to relate because I'm the type to track my man down and pull him home by his ear so it seemed a bit unrealistic. Big reaction to a very small (and made up) problem. Little details like the man has only been gone for 3 months but she doesnt recognize his car, he got a new car?!? And I understand that is a long time when you haven't heard from someone but you wouldn't try to find him and have it out before meeting with a divorce lawyer, lawyers are expensive.

It was a good listen for being what it is but try not to think too hard ton the details.

Short and sweet!

I enjoyed Tessa and Jude’s story. Just because it’s short doesn’t mean it isn’t filled with plenty of emotion and a good plot that is engaging and entertaining. Tessa and Jude were newlyweds when he overheard a telephone message and jumped to the wrong conclusion and left town. Now he’s back but so many questions and fears remain. Angela Moore and George Wickham did a fine job performing their characters. My 4 star rating reflects the novella length only.

Ugh

I'm not sure if this is a 2 or 3 star book! I despise Jude and obviously communication is a foreign subject to him. Tessa is stupid he walked away from her and she just took him back. Ugh frustrating!

There wasn't much to it.

Frustrating.
I guess there was a story there but it seemed almost like an outline or teaser for the entire tale. Too short with incomplete threads that are not developed enough for a reader to become invested in any character.

What is there is weird. I couldn't understand the conflict or resolution. How so much heartache & drastic actions is resolved with by basically just brushing hands together, spi spot all is well? I just don't get it.

Narrators: The male performer was fine the female is just a soft monotone. She never sounds as if she is experiencing any feeling, just sweetly reading a bunch of words.

A lovely story

It was exactly what I was looking for. A lovely story of a great relationship. I really enjoyed the way the characters reconciled, how they didn’t just ignore everything and jumped into each other’s arms. It was sweet, romantic and I highly recommend it

could've been better

I'm disappointed that I had both the audio book and kindle but as I followed along I noticed there was a lot more story line to the book that the narrators either put in there own words or cut out all together. It seemed the missing parts would've given more clarity and made Jude seem a little more remorseful then what was read.

Then you have Shawn who may be a friend but it seems like a friend wouldn't be as comfortable as he was if she is married. Kissing her on her neck at the party? Putting a voice recording on her phone of him singing to her? No I agree Jude had cause for concern but he needs to work on his communication skills.

i think overall the plot of the book was a good one.
