Returning to the haunted Hudson River mansion where she first encountered her dashing sea captain, Julianna is rewarded by one exquisitely beautiful and undeniably real night of passion with Brom Vanderzee. It’s all in there!

This book has it all! The excitement, the adventure, the steaminess, and the love story! It kept me absolutely captivated from the minute I started listening. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and may even read it again myself.

A BEAUTIFUL & HAUNTING LOVE STORY THAT DEFIED TIME

This book left me sobbing, yes actually sobbing, as dawn broke but I just couldn't stop listening, desperate yet dreading the ending and marvelling at this breathtaking and unforgettable time travel romance. I got totally caught up in all the mystery and magic as two beautiful but tortured love stories slowly unfold and then they became forever entwined. One deep love and soul connection is for Elliot a handsome actor and is set in 1899 and the other one pulling at Julianna's soul is for Brom a long dead swarthy Dutch Sea Captain whose all consuming love engulfed her and constantly called her back to 1699.

I'm going to have to listen to a lot more from this talented author because this love story was just so beautiful, touching and magical. But there's also humor, mild sex, vivid descriptions of both centuries and a selection of other interesting secondary characters too to capture your imagination.

The female narrator did an excellent job in bringing the characters, their emotions and the mystery to life and IMHO, because of this, she made an excellent book unforgettable.

Worth a credit? Yes, and I think I'm going to be using a lot more credits on her other books too.

"Dearest Heart" should have been the title

What did you love best about Sweet Forever?

The time travel story line. Should you disrupt fate for your lover? Probably historical correct, Captain Kidd's wife really was named Sarah.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Laurence Bouvard?

I didn't like the female character voices: whiny and high pitched like pre-teen brats. I found Julianna, Sarah and especially young Macon as irritating and sufferable. I don't know why Elliott had a Texas accent, but I enjoyed Brom even if his accent seemed more German than Dutch.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It took me a few days but it always kept my attention albeit predictable at times.

Any additional comments?

Sex with 2 different men in two different centuries! Too much b@@b talk and a different reader would have been better with less sugary whine, more womanly deliverance.

Terrible!!

First and LAST book from this author. The story made zero sense. The characters were completely undeveloped nor likable. Julie was annoying, immature, fickle and completely silly. I couldn't stand either of the males. This was a waste of time and made it only to chapter 7. the writing was adolescent, at best!

the narrator's voice for Julie, made her sound like a 12yr old air head. The voice for Elliott made him sound like a weathered old man and to end, the voice from Brom was an ever confusing (annoying) mix of Indian, German and Italian. ugh!! just awful!! I felt like I was in story-time at school when the teacher is trying REALLY hard to capture your attention reading a story but you just sit there and roll your eyes and cringe.

I would have given this zero stars overall!
