About this listen

The New World Order is at hand.

Civilization has crumbled since the EMP thrust humanity back into the Stone Age, and dangerous factions now scavenge for scarce resources in this terrifying new world.

Austin Merryman wonders what the future holds for his teenage daughter, and if the madness surrounding them is even worth surviving. For now, the group is safe in his brother’s prepper house nestled in the Rockies. But the calm can’t last forever. With 16 people crammed together in the tiny mountain home, tensions are bound to erupt. It doesn’t help that his brother’s lazy friend gets twisted pleasure from stirring up animosity, pitting brother against brother and daughter against father as battle lines are drawn.

But decisions about who stays and who goes are ripped from their hands as information on the USB drive lays bare pieces of the NWO’s plans. Austin realizes the horrifying truth of why he’s in their sights, as well as the danger he’s brought down on those he loves most. When tragedy again strikes the small group, it will be up to Austin to make the hard choices necessary to ensure their survival.

Until a dying man utters the single word that changes everything....

This novel contains violence and scenes with referenced substance abuse.

Blows book 1 away

This feels more like a post-apocalyptic story should, The NWO is doing what I believe it would, ruthlessly. The family, while prepped is making plans, Well, then, it all goes to hell,

They survive irregardless!

Austin and Amanda catch up with Savannah and the group of Revivalists; aka Mormons. They make a detour to Austin’s brother Enis’s home tucked away in the Rockies. The eighteen Mormons are not eager to travel the remaining miles to Utah given the violence they have seen already. Staying at Enis’s large farmhouse presents its own set of problems; i.e., overcrowding, housing, food, water, and ammunition. The USB drive regains focus as Nash tries to decode and interpret the contents. Within the USB drive exists a whole new conspiracy, along with trouble for the Merryman clan. The N.W.O. is making its play for control of the country now in turmoil. How the Merryman’s fit into this conspiracy is yet to be revealed. Plenty of twists and turns to come. My only complaint is the stupid things people do and yet continue to survive. I think they would have all died if not for Amanda. Great listen!

Survive the Aftermath is a post-apocalyptic thriller about a group of characters trying to survive the aftermath of an EMP attack. I found Grace Hamilton's writing to be descriptive but not overly. The plot and the characters were well-developed. The suspense is great, injected with great timing. Overall, this audiobook is a nonstop thrill, with many twists and turns that will have you wholly absorbed. I look forward to the third book in this series.

Book 2

I just finished the first two books in this series by grace Hamilton and overall I liked and enjoyed the story. The characters were easy to connect with, all except one that is Wendell or Wendy as he’s called in the story which actually I don’t think he comes in til book two is extremely obnoxious and can’t wait until he is killed off or moves on. There was few instances that were lil irritating like how Amanda who is supposed to be ex military seems a little incompetent yet it never crossed her mind in the beginning as to what was happening when the power on everything goes out including the plane she was flying until Austin points it out to her. And how she magically shows up every time to save Austin’s life. But that all aside i really did enjoy the book just be prepared to jump right into the next book in the series as each one leaves you with cliffhanger that you must read the next to find out what happens next. Lol it finishes up just enough of the story only to propel you into the next plot right as it ends. I was given this audiobook in exchange for honest and fair review and I look forward to finally finding out what’s on the damn usb drive in book 3 . Here’s hoping lol

GREAT!

I listen to tons of different apocalyptic books, some very real & possible. This series puts a new slant on possibilities- an attack from within our own government- which in 2020 is a VERY real possibility & something many of us know is happening right now in American politics (sadly) - but in a different way than what's played out in this book (altho' this book could very easily become reality if your eyes are TRULY open to what's going on & you're not completely zoned out by our mainstream media propoganda machine, most owned by just 6 HUGE liberal corporations telling ALL the same lies day after day). I HIGHLY recommend the REAL LIFE book "The Killing Of Uncle Sam" (see amazon attachment of book below) if you want a TRUE, unvarnished picture of history leading up to today. THAT will REALLY open your eyes to how deep & dark forces have been working around the world to get us all to a 1-world global/communist order! https://www.amazon.com/dp/1645720047/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_MOjlEbMTNRQ1F Back to THIS fictional series...I greatly look forward to the next book in this series. Love the characters, story, & narration. New author for me. Look forward to more by her.

Pretty good

Pretty good. I'm happy I continued with this series. While it has a few small issues, the timeline and plot line seemed to have a few tiny issues. But nothing that was a big deal. If these little issues bug you, get a life lol. But again, book two was pretty great. Held my attention through the whole thing. And I am looking forward to see how book 3 wraps things ups. I'm pretty sure it's a trilogy. Also, The narrator did another great job. I didn't love him at first but he definitely grew on me. 😁
Oh, and one of my favs was killed off. Shoulda killed off the annoying guy Wendy. Lol. He sucks.

This audiobook was given to me for free. I am providing a honest review. (Thanx for the books and sorry it took me forever! )
