A bit on the nose targeting YA Male still great

As I said its target audience is blatantly obvious, but sex scenes aside, very well written and performed. I expect the longer this series goes the juvenile fantasy elements will recede and the story will stand on its own merit. It is very difficult to criticize independent authors who are all but forced to use certain plot devices, as long as they do not detract from the actual story. That being said, I gave this a high rating based on the fact that I am far from the target audience and I know there are already more books in the series. The mc took a bit for me because the confidence & lack thereof took my old cynical *** to remember that time in life. Either way I will continue this series and probably look at his other work

Mc is stupid(facts)

Mc must be stupid the way he acts, it makes no sense that he has god powers but cant knock somebody out? How cant this superman knock out his enemies? Why why why, it makes no sense it so wild. Wish the author would just give him more limits, So the story could make sense!!

A pilot to a much longer superhero saga

Nick the son of the most famous hero turned villain in the world enrolls in a school to train superheroes and tries to move beyond his father's reputation and build his own legacy. There are tons of things introduced in this first outing that are not resolved or fully expanded upon, that leaves a ton of room for sequels to explore. As Nick progresses through his first year most of the focus is on his small group and a rival group within his class.

The story does not spend tons of time in the classroom, but more in their training of villain/hero simulations and preparation for a competition between the two groups. The book is split between this prep, his free time with his friends and battling the minions of his father. It makes for constant action, but we don't get to fully explore any of the world or school concepts in very much detail. I hope future books delve more into the world or the full schedule of the school, but this one was entertaining in its setup.

The narration by Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey was solid overall and thought he had good pacing and delivery. I think he did pretty well with the male characters and okay with the females (not many male narrators can pull off tons of female characters). Would love for the female voices to be a little stronger but other than that he did pretty good in all accounts.

I'd like to see where the future books build upon the characters and locales introduced in the first book.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good Story FANTASTIC Narrator!

This is definitely worth checking out. The story is fun and the characters are cool, but the narrator knocks it out of the park! I was having a hard time believing it was just one person - the voices are too good! I'm not sure who Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey is, but I hope we see more of his work soon!

Also, not to give anything away... but if you are a fan of superheroes and laughing you will love this.

Thanks for the fun adventure, I'll be suggesting this one to my friends.
