About this listen

Fiona doesn't remember going to sleep. But when she opens her eyes, she discovers her entire world has been altered - her house is abandoned and broken, and the entire neighborhood is barren and dead. Even stranger is the tattoo on her right wrist - a black oval with five marks on either side - that she doesn't remember getting but somehow knows she must cover at any cost.

And she's right.

When the honeybee population collapsed, a worldwide pandemic occurred and the government tried to bio-engineer a cure. Only the solution was deadlier than the original problem - the vaccination turned people into ferocious, deadly beasts who were branded as a warning to unvaccinated survivors. Key people needed to rebuild society are protected from disease and beasts inside a fortress-like wall. But Fiona has awakened branded, alone - and on the wrong side of the wall.

Great story!

Not much to say except the story is great and the narration is amazing.

The story develops amazingly and the main character and side characters develop amazingly too!

Great Read!

I went through this book in a matter of days, I really enjoyed how the Author started out as if you were the main character learning, remembering as the story progresses and develops.

I felt that this could be a real story in our world if certain situations took place. In other words Bethany made this story fun and believable in an exciting way!

Thanks,

My teenagers favorite book!

My daughter has read this book about 5 times and convinced me to read it, and I’m glad I did. It was an easy enjoyable listen! I suggested it to my sister, and she really liked it too. I’m more of a mystery/thriller type reader, but this was nice to listen to while I was working in the garden, very easy to follow!

YA Dystopian Genre that adults will enjoy as well

"Stung" by Bethany Wiggins is a gripping dystopian novel that plunges readers into a world ravaged by a deadly virus. The story follows Fiona Tarsis, a young woman & Arson a young man who is living in a society rigidly divided and controlled by the government in the wake of a devastating plague. Wiggins paints a vivid picture of a society struggling to rebuild, where fear and suspicion are rampant, and the lines between right and wrong are blurred. The concept of the "Marked" – individuals genetically altered by the virus – is particularly intriguing.
The story moves quickly, with plenty of action and suspense to keep the reader engaged. The initial mystery surrounding the plague and the changed world is intriguing.

*Stung* is a solid entry in the dystopian YA genre. While it offers an entertaining and fast-paced read.

Make sure you don't miss the next one!

So good

I remember the first time I read this a few years ago I read the entire thing in one day I was so hooked. I wouldn’t even put it down to eat or go to the bathroom. The world is so well built and captivating. The characters are developed well and genuine. They’re not 2d cut outs they’re unique. Such an amazing book I recommend it 1000000%
