The hurdles for best friends to lovers
Jackson and Ava have been best friends since grade school. They’ve been through lots of trials together...including her divorce. Now Ava’s biological clock is ticking and she wants to go to a sperm bank...that is until Jake agrees to be her sperm donor but the old fashioned way. Jake has loved Ava forever and is using this opportunity to make her see the truth. But there are secrets that can destroy their friendship...what will Ava do?
As I’ve said before, I love this series, however, I was having a difficult time liking Ava. Ava was too insecure and selfish for a 30yo. That said, glad that she and Jake got their HEA.

Slow burn
Narration was wonderful. It’s a shame the story did not meet expectations. The whole thing was much ado about nothing. If real people go back and forth, do or not do as much as this book, no one would have a family. Two steps forward, three back. I could almost predict what was going to happen. I do not recommend this one. The narration was great. I will look for these narrators. I just won’t look for this author.

My Thoughts on Straight Up Love
I feel as though I spent most of this book torn between which of the main characters I felt worse for. There ended up being a little more angst to the story then I was expecting, and yet it was a book I could easily pick back up when life forced me to tear myself away. I personally ended up being a huge fan of Jake. Even in his mistakes he ultimately put the person he loved first. There were moments when I'll admit I was frustrated and wanted to throw my kindle. Jake was the kind of guy who deserves to be fought for. Not enough of that happened for my liking. And still this story had me riveted. Just goes to show what a good author Lexi Ryan is.
There was one secondary character that really had me intrigued by the end of the book. I need the next one to be here already.
The narrators for the audiobook did a great job. I liked both their voices and feel like they did a good job with all the different characters as well as showing the necessary emotion. I would absolutely enjoy listening to them again.

LOVED Jake, struggled with Ava!!!
So my headline really says it all... I loved the idea of this story and most of the characters in it. Jake was completely charming and I could not get enough of him. He was the best friend to Ava but he was totally in love with her and wanted her so badly... even enough to give her a baby. My issues were really with a bit too much IMO. I love me an angsty, friends to lovers story! This just seemed a bit heavier in the angst department than was necessary.
Strait Up Love has the same narrators as the first audiobook and they did another fabulous job. Summer Roberts has sweet and soft southern voice. Tyler Donne is also a delightful narrator. They certainly play the southern characters very well!!

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 More Jackson💘Love💘
Lexi Ryan pens another awesome “Boys of Jackson Harbor” novel. I am loving this series, the books are well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. This is Jake and Ava’s story and the time line picks up after the 1st book ended. Jake Jackson and Ava have been best friends forever, both harbor deeper feelings but are afraid to act on them because they do not want to jeopardize their friendship. Jake runs Jackson’s Brews, he loves to cook and create different types of ale. In addition to her teaching job and running the theater club Ava works a few nights at the bar too. She enjoys spending time with Jake. When Ava comes up with a plan to have a baby her friends convince her to ask Jake for his sperm instead of going to the sperm bank. Jake comes up with his own proposition. This is a great friends to lovers romance, it is well plotted with plenty of drama, angst, some twists and a whole lot of emotions leading up to a great romance. Lexi Ryan, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the talented Sumer Roberts and Tyler Donne. They are versatile voice artists who continue to bring these character to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Awesome!! Even Better Than Book 1!!

Different couple in the series, but even better than the first one IMHO!! I love how Ms. Roberts and Mr. Donne bring these awesome characters to life. The scope of the emotions can really be felt and it felt like I was a part of the story. I think the only thing wrong is the length of the story. I wanted it to be longer lol!!!!

Jackson Harbor is one steamy city
Jake and Ava have intense chemistry and it’s incredibly fun to read. This is an angsty friends to lovers you won’t regret.
The narration is easy to listen to.
