Publisher's summary

The follow-up to Jeffery Deaver's massive best seller The Bone Collector (now a feature film starring Angelina Jolie and Denzel Washington), Stone Monkey is a "simply outstanding" (San Jose Mercury News) addition to the Lincoln Rhyme series!

First introduced in the spine-chilling novel The Bone Collector, Lincoln Rhyme dazzled listeners with unparalleled forensic sleuthing - all done from the confines of a wheelchair. A famed criminologist paralyzed from the neck down, Rhyme compensates for his physical disability with his brains - and the arms and legs of his brilliant and beautiful protégée, Amelia Sachs. It is Amelia who "walks the grid" for Rhyme, acting as his eyes and ears for the famously dangerous and difficult cases chronicled in Jeffery Deaver's best-selling novels The Bone Collector, The Coffin Dancer, and The Empty Chair.

Now the awe-inspiring duo returns in Stone Monkey. Recruited to help the FBI and the Immigration and Naturalization Service perform the nearly impossible, Lincoln and Amelia manage to track down a cargo ship headed for New York City and carrying two dozen illegal Chinese immigrants as well as the notorious human smuggler and killer known as "the Ghost". But when the Ghost's capture goes disastrously wrong, Lincoln and Amelia find themselves in a race against time: to stop the Ghost before he can track down and murder the two surviving families who have escaped from the ship and vanished deep into the labyrinthine world of New York City's Chinatown.

Want Lincoln's voice back

What did you love best about Stone Monkey?

Narrator did a pretty good job, but I really missed the old Narrator, since to me that voice what the voice of Lincoln Rhyme! Story was awesome as usual since I love jeffery Deaver novels!

love the twists and turns!

I really enjoyed the book. There were 2 things I didn't like. The writer really messed up with his choice of fate with the Sony Lee character. I loved Sony and he would have been a fantastic addition to future books. very very disappointed with that part, although it was well done, still, there was room for excellent moments in the future with the character and Rhyme and Amelia. The other thing is the voice for Rhyme. Sometime, thankfully, he was okay, but sometime he made Rhyme sound like an over exzagerated version of fake super hero. Too pompous.
otherwise, after the plot and background was set up, I really enjoyed the novel.

Not bad, not great, just good.

This is my least favorite in the Lincoln Rhyme series. It was kind of predictable. Still a very cool and original story but I don't know, I kinda saw the twist coming and that's unusual for a Lincoln Rhyme novel. Still worthy of continuing the series, though.

Excellent story!

As in all of the Lincoln rhyme novels, the storyline was intriguing and at times surprising. Underneath the layer of mystery resides a lesson in human nature, which was noted and appreciated.

Great book! Good Narration!

I was a bit hesitant when I read the reviews, but I want to read the entire series and I do it while I'm quilting. A lot of people were hung up on the change of narrators. Well, things happen, other people get hired, people say no or get other jobs, who knows. It's such a delicious book that everyone shouldn't get so hung up on who is reading it. He did a great job, the Chinese words couldn't be easy and he did it like it was his native tongue. Also the Chinese cop, Sunny Lee, he was funny, yet adorable. Perfectly done. Well worth the time and money. The twist, well, I had it figured, (except one), was wonderfully done. I wish they would do this as a series on Amazon like Bosch or something. The movie years ago didn't do it justice.
