About this listen

A mysterious letter alluding to a secret in her parents' past brings Genevieve Woodward back to her Blue Ridge Mountains hometown, but she's also in need of a break from a high-profile career that has left her dangerously burned out and concealing a powerful secret of her own. When she wakes inside an unfamiliar cottage to find the confused owner staring down at her, she can no longer ignore the fact that she needs help.

Sam Turner has embraced his sorrow and his identity as an outsider. The solitary, disciplined life he lives on his historic farm is the life he's chosen for himself. The last thing he wants is to rent his cottage to a woman as troubled as she is talkative. Yet, he can't force himself to turn her away right when she needs him most.

As Genevieve researches her family's history and her and Sam's emotions deepen, they will have to let go of the facades and loneliness they've clung to and allow light to illuminate every hidden truth.

So good!

I love the beginning to this new series. Great stories of redemption from circumstances and the willingness to listen and seek God’s voice. The slide into dependency is well written as is the difficult path back to health. I’m looking forward to the next one. Well narrated.

Excellent

People are not perfect and neither are Christians. No matter how hard we try, we still mess up. This was a good story.

Romantic!

I loved this book! It had everything I look for in a romance. action, drama, and finally, romance. I really like how relatable it all is and how healing the message itself was. There was even hints of spice without crossing the line.

Fantastic Read

I like the characters in this book, they were believable and had great character growth. I love the references to heavenly father, and our Lord Jesus.

Like able story and characters

Don’t do drugs! I liked a lot of the aspects of the story but they didn’t seem to come together in a manner that would be relatable

Shattering Christian perfection

This author was different than most in creating a sweet love story that tackled prescription drug addiction and self-protection hidden in being productive.

Some of the story was a little far fetched but still enjoyable. It is obvious that a lot of thought and hard work went into telling this story.

I realize it a “story” but it is filled with truth about our walk with Jesus.
Eye opening. A must read.

Amazing story; heavy, be ready for depth!

The multiple narrators was amazing! Loved the different accents. The story, while hard and heavy, was amazing. (TW: drug addiction & withdraw) Christian views of how to fight drug addiction. Confronting past sins and coming clean.

The vulnerability of the characters and their need to rely on God.

Good story. Well done. The characters are relatable and their interaction believable. God’s place and power in their lives was at the core of life for them. The characters that turned away from God found themselves in a challenging spot in life, as we all do in reality. It is faith in God that keeps us grounded.
