Sci fi meets drama with a dash of humor

im on book four already I have enjoyed the saga so far, unlike some other space operas it's continually layering not the continual repetitive story.

lazy storytelling

This is a great idea executed mediocrely. it has all the right ingredients, but ingredients doesn't make a dish taste good by itself. There's a few wasted opertunities to have complications, like maybe a tag -along first date to create some humour and conflict. A bit too much convenient things happen. it's like a junior High schooler took a university level author workshop... this book is saved by an excellent narrator though, so it was enjoyable

It is all set up, no real payoff.

It seems like 75 to 80% of this book is set up. If they’re not setting things up to not get a payoff, then they are trying to make you feel sorry for the main character. Even if it is the first of a series there should be some pay off at the end of it.

GOOD START TO THE SERIES

I can't wait to listen to the next book. This had a real beginning. it's not like other space operas that require a Prequel so you'll know how the characters ended up where they are. i appreciated that.

Change the audio preview sample to Chap1 please!

I give the publisher a challenge, Change the audio sample and my guesstimation is you will gain a higher percentage of book purchases.
I love the author and the narrator is great. The section that the publisher chose is not consistent with the narrators voice and abilities at all.
I have looked at this book several times and rejected it because of the reviews and the audio sample.
Later, it kept popping into my mind and I read the reviews on Kindle, and I liked the reviews. I went ahead and took a chance on the book because I cannot imagine the author being as terrible as some of the reviews stated.

The book does have a plodding pace and is a slow Developing storyline. However, the book is paced towards character development and plot development for the second book. The last 10 chapters of book the story starts to get interesting and captures one’s attention. It is a little predictable, moreover the book allows you to guess whether your predictions will come true but it also has some fun surprises.
I am definitely getting the second book.
I love that book is clean. I cannot remember whether there is vulgarity in it or not Which of course indicates that there’s very little or none in the book. This makes my purchases very easy and the content is refreshing. An adult book that I can actually recommend to my grandchildren, wow what a concept!

Lastly, the narrator in various voice ranges sounds like will Wheaton which is a complement. Will Wheaton is one of the best book narrators on the planet. However, it is a little bit of a fun distraction when all of a sudden I hear will Wheaton. The narrator is good and Appears to be fairly new at his craft but he is good and appears he will continue to get much better and I enjoyed him very much.

Light Easy and Fun Book. Pretty.

Fun story. Likable characters. Good pacing. Kind of reminds me of "Ready Player One" (The 1st Book).

I've been looking for a book just like this.

2 friends traveling the galaxy for an adult audience. A narrator with a smooth sultry voice. Chronicling their travels from job to job and port to port. What more could someone ask for?
