About this listen

They are the Rebel Alliance's ultimate strike force: sleek, swift, and deadly. For these X-wing fighters, no job is too dirty or too dangerous. Now they must rise to meet an impossible challenge: stop a powerful warlord by pretending to be his ally.

Against all odds, the controversial Wraith Squadron has survived its first covert mission. But now they are called upon to cheat death twice. This time, Wedge Antilles sends them in to stop the warlord Zsinj and his Super Star Destroyer, Iron Fist. If Zsinj joins the Empire, it could turn the tide of war against the Rebels.

The Wraith Squadron's mission is to infiltrate the warlord's fleet and uncover his carefully guarded plans. To do so, they must pose as ruthless pirates seeking to join Zsinj's forces. And that means first becoming pirates in space lanes teeming with Imperial Navy patrols. If that isn't enough to get them killed, they'll have to pass one last test: a suicide mission for Zsinj.

Can they survive the test and turn the tables on the warlord?

Or is this the end for Wraith Squadron?

Excellent. But, wish for unabridged.

I really enjoyed this book. But, it would have been better if it were unabridged.

Somehow even better than Wraith Squadron

I only wish it wasn't abridged, but at least they got the Phanon parts in!

Cut too much from source material

The audio is good with special effects sound. They however cut way too much of the original book. Missing enormous parts from the book. Waiting for the newer version to come out later this year. Not worth the money spent on it.

Not the full book

Be careful about buying any books from this guy. He doesn’t inform you that all of the books he lets you buy are short parts of the actual book and not the full book.

Abridged version. Very short and leaves a lot out

Do yourself a favor and wait for the full version to come out. Not worth your time.

Abridged to the point of unlistenable.

If you have read the novels of the X-wing series this audio book will be a disappointment. Entire chapters have been left out as well as critical events for character development. The addition of some stock Star Wars sound effects and other ambient sounds does not make up for the descriptions that have been removed from scenes. In a visual medium the descriptions may have been able to be conveyed but with a single narrator doing all the voices the need for descriptions of mood and setting remain.

extremely rushed narration

the narration is extremely rushed and lacks emotional inflection which might be a result of the abridgement. I feel confused by the jumps in character development and disappointed by the overall experience.
