Ok, but not great

I LOVE Spiderman. I have 3 different Spiderman comic subscriptions growing up. I loved all the Spiderman movies, with all three actors playing him. I loved the old Spiderman cartoons from the 80's and 90's as well as the new Myles Morales "into the spider verse." That is why I'm sad to say that this book was just OK.

Paige did a great job of portraying the difficult life Peter Parker has. His struggling with being Spiderman and making money at his job, and his struggle with MJ and his relationship were really well done. The explanation of how evil Carnage is was also a high point, and really made me see him as the bad guy and a true threat to the world as well as Spiderman. Sadly, this is the end of my praise for the book.

The concept of a doctor and a bio weapon was a good idea, and while in theory should have made me worry about the possible implications, I never saw it as a threat. It was to obvious that Spiderman would fix the problem and just wasn't done well enough to make me think of it as a real problem. The combat scenes were not done the greatest as well, and while I don't expect the perfection of R. A. Salvatore on a fight description, the combat just didn't pull me in and almost felt like some way to draw out the run time. The fact that this was only a 4 hour book hurts, because it felt like it probably could have been cut down to 2.5. Everything in this book was just OK, and none of it really made me want to come back and listen to it again.

Overall, I wouldn't suggest this to anyone. If you love Spiderman then go for it, as this isn't BAD, it just isn't really good either.

Short But Fun!

The Plot of this story is really interesting and "comicbooky " as is to be expected. The Character growth and development is quite good and if you are a fan of the comicbooks or the 90`s cartoon this is right up your alley.
Tim Page as the narrator has a great voice fro Spiderman/ Peter P.
Happy Reading!!!

Quick, enjoyable audible comic book

This is a short but enjoyable Spider-Man story. I'm not as familiar with him as I am with Batman, so I enjoyed the bits of backstory that are spread throughout the story. Carnage seems to be a very worthy opponent for the web slinger, and I look forward to reading/listening to more like this. I found narrator Tim Paige to be the right kind of voice for this title. If you want a little break from more serious drama, this one might be for you.

My first audio Spiderman!

Narrator was fantastic. Voice acting was alright. The story had me gripped, but kind of felt rushed toward the end. I would have liked some background music to go along with the narrating. Makes it a little more fun I think. All in all, I really enjoyed it and will be buying some more spidey books!
