Great stuff

I like history books like these. You can learn a lot from those times. They had the same issues as so many of us in this society, aside from the technology, of course.

The narrator? Couldn't complain. I hope to hear more from her. The writer stayed to the facts, but still gave some personal insights here and there.

Good background

This book isn't just about Spartacus, even though the author tried to stuff as much information about him and his rebellion in there as possible. The first few chapters definitely are, and I enjoyed it. However, a lot of the rest of the book refers to other aspects of Roman life in those times. But I found it intriguing nonetheless. Thanks!

Awesome

Go Spartacus! Rebel against slavery! I know he didn't last forever, but it's these kinds of outbursts against dictatorship and authority that I respect. It was also good to learn more about everyday lifestyles of Romans. The prostitution part was definitely interesting, and the family values they held. There is so much in this book. Just get it! It's worth it!

Wtf?

This book barely mentions Spartacus. I was unable to sit through this and I would not recommend it unless your interested in an ethics lesson.
