About this listen
Callie Franklin doesn't do one night stands.
Ever.
She's far too responsible and focused on her career to ever let herself give in to temptation. But, on the eve of her best friend's wedding, she meets that temptation...and his name is Devin McAllister.
Devin, on the other hand, has no problem with meaningless hookups. The very last thing he needs - or wants - is a relationship. Relationships come with strings. Relationships come with heartbreak.
A late-night encounter in the hotel's piano bar finds the two unable to resist each other. With her angelic voice and bright blue eyes, Devin's sure he's never met anyone as beautiful as his Songbird.
Six weeks later, when two pink lines confirm Callie's worst fears, she and Devin have to face the consequences of their wild weekend. And they have to deal with each other - whether they like it or not.
With a love story that's far from traditional, Callie and Devin begin to wonder if their one-night stand could turn into something neither of them anticipated.
A happily ever after.

I don't know if its good or bad
The narrator was so bad I returned it before the first chapter was up. Has the narrator never listened to an audible book before? It was just way over the top and totally pretentious.

I loved this book!
I loved this book! The story is so well written. I hope this is turned into a movie. Pretty sure we'd all go see it. I didn't want to stop listening to it.
I really enjoyed the narrator too. I felt like she was easy to listen to unlike some of the "whispery" narrators. I felt that she helped me get so absorbed into the story. I was laughing and cry with her.
Overall I just love this. Buy and listen!

Heartwarming story
The narrator of this story took a bit of getting used to but, by 1/4 of the way through, I think she had it down.
Emotional story about acceptance and love. Starting over and new beginnings.
I loved the characters, this author always has excellent characters. Believable, likable, real.
Warm and heartfelt.

Sweet & refreshing story
Once in a while I need a sweet, refreshing story. I don’t care if I can guess the outcome. It’s a romance after all. I know they’ll be a happily ever after. But make no mistake, Sydney Logan didn’t write a Hallmark movie script where the hero and heroine kiss only five seconds before the screen fades to black.
The usually conservative and responsible Callie throws caution to the wind, indulging in a drunken one night stand with Devin, a handsome stranger who turns out to be the best man in her friend’s wedding.
You guessed it! She gets pregnant. After freak outs, on both sides, life-altering decisions, interference from family and friends and the discovery that people aren’t always what they seem on the outside, Callie and Devin forge more than an amicable alliance.
So, while there was no explicit description of the sex or lovemaking in the story, it managed to stay realistic, sensual and romantic. Moreover, there were times I wanted to cry, yell at certain characters, and even laugh.
I listened to this book on audio and while the narrator was adequate, she didn’t give a memorable performance. She used the same inflections, line after line, no matter the emotion. I also found little distinction between the male and female voices. This however, did not hinder my enjoyment of the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

I had to stop listening after they went shopping and her insecurities just became ridiculous. It was very irritating to listen to. The narrator sounded like a gravelly old person and that got irritating too

This story is great - it deserved a better narrato
What did you love best about Songbird?
The story is amazing
What other book might you compare Songbird to and why?
It is a wonderful bad boy loves good girl and makes the right choice story
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Catherine Wade?
any one who could have read it more smoothly
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes but I couldn't because the narration was choppy
Any additional comments?
The dialogue was better than the narration portions (but still not stellar) The narrator spoke every sentance as if it were a stand alone statement or headline. Nothing flowed together like a paragraph and it was very hard to listen to. There was no inflection other than strong declaration. I will most likely pass on another book with this narrator even if I love the story

Beautiful story
A beautiful love story with a little drama thrown in. I loved hearing the story and characters come alive in the audiobook. I have read the story in book form but it was even better in audiobook! The narrator did a good job bringing the characters alive.
