Another great book

Where does Son of Stone rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I thoroughly enjoyed the reader and the content.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It was interesting and kept me engaged. I thought Stone's response was normal and nothing over the top.

Have you listened to any of Tony Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I totally enjoy Tony Roberts.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, but I don't usually have that opportunity.

My least favorite Stone Barrington Book

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I have read all Stone Barrington series books and this one was just not up to par. Needs some plot twists and surprises. Would like to have seen Arington stay around for a while. This was just boring. Peter was too perfect.

What could Stuart Woods have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Throw in some surprises, and action.

What does Tony Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

I like Tony Roberts. He is my favorite narrator for the Stone series.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Any additional comments?

Spice it up.

A VERY ENTERTAINING STORY

It's got all the right ingredients: romance, living styles and ways of conducting business of a high society, as well as the exemplary attitudes of a young man's disciplinary way of becoming a successful person. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So disappointed

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I've read the first few and then listened to the rest during my daily commutes. This is the first one I keep talking back to, as in "are you kidding me" and not in a good way. The story line is unbelievable as well as predictable, everything just falls right into place. Woods cannot write in young adult voices, no matter how refined/educated/naive they are intended to be. The story line has gotten elitist and boring. I hope Woods is just setting the stage for something better with these characters, they're not very compelling in this work.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stuart Woods again?

Yes

Which character – as performed by Tony Roberts – was your favorite?

Stone Barrington. His female voices and Dino's are just adequate

Could you see Son of Stone being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Not one I would watch

Chip Off The Old Block

AS usual, Tony Roberts is a fantastic narrator. It just doesn't get any better. He uses different accents for each character, but he keeps up with them all throughout the book.

The story was well written. Stone Barrington must be Mr. Woods' favorite character because he writes about him with an exciting spirit. I wonder if his fingers (typing) have trouble keeping up with his inspirations?

I cannot give away the story line, but has some really heart-wrenching sad parts as well as joyous happy parts. I will tell you it looks like we have another Barrington character to look forward to.

Predictable

I'm not even finished the book and I already know it will end well....
Unlike other books were there is some kind of case to solve, there is no real plot
I usually don't mind Tony Roberts narration but I guess since the story is so bad, I could help but notice some of the annoying things in his narration
