Audiobook Review 🎧
Narrated by Sebastian York & Samantha Brentmoor
Dual Narration

This series will hands down be one of my favorite series ever! Someone You Deserve was one of my favorite single mom stories that had me falling in love with that trope, and this just reaffirms how much I love it!! Harlow writes beautiful and emotional stories with characters that have so much depth! This is why she’s one of my favorites 🥹

Scottie and Grady being best friends in high school, and finding their way back to each other was everything!! Scottie getting pregnant during their hook up, and her son breaking into his garage — all of this just had me giggling so hard!

I loved how Teddy was patient with Scottie, and how his relationship with her son grew 🥹 Grady may be grumpy, but he was such a teddy bear that I just wanted to hug over and over! He was perfect for Scottie, and let’s just say it was HOT when they were together 🤭🤭

And the audio!! Omg, not only were these narrators amazing in their roles, but when they did the other characters too I was speechless — it was just so good! And Sebastian with some of those lines?? man I was sweating 🥵🥵

I cannot wait for more!! Harlow just keeps blowing me away with this series 🫶🏼

Wonderful & emotional friends to lovers story

This series has been absolutely wonderful. Harlow handles the pregnancy trope so perfectly. All of the books in this series have had characters full of depth & authentic emotions. Carrington Cove is filled with people who genuinely care about one another. It's just small town goodness at its best. I love a great friends-to-lovers story & this one DELIVERS ya'll! It's organic & natural the way that Grady & Scottie fall in love & I adored listening to it unfold.

Grady & Scottie are high school besties. Both pining for each other without the other one knowing. He leaves home to pursue his dream of getting drafted into the MLB. Scottie has big dreams of her own but life changes forever when she becomes pregnant & makes the decision to marry & raise her son in a committed relationship

Her relationship with her husband slowly ends & she finds herself divorced with a teenage son to raise on her own. She makes the decision to move back home to Carrington Cove & once Grady sees her, all bets are off. After a very hot & spicy night together, Scottie becomes pregnant once again.

What unfolds next is the story of two best friends, rekindling their friendship & trust in one another. Scottie is jaded & scarred from her previous marriage & Grady is determined to be patient & win her back. He realizes early on that SHE is the one he wants and always has. Navigating a relationship in their 30's with a teenager, a new baby on the way & fear, Grady helps Scottie through a dangerous & frightening experience & helps her heal along the way. The story is full of swoony & tender moments as Grady slowly wins the woman of his dreams back. There's a list a mile long of so many sweet & thoughtful things this guy does for Scottie, but the guy steps up in a BIG way, without giving it a thought. Taking on the responsibility not only of his own child but Scottie's son Chase as well. He's really boyfriend GOLD!

I especially LOVED how Astrid, Grady's sister, empathetically tells Scottie she's not alone. She doesn't have to do "all of this" by herself. She's compassionate & understanding & it was so genuine. There's been a strong sense of found family in this series by Harlow & you see this in every character of hers. Genuine concern & compassion for one another. I love this about the series.

🎧Let's talk narration...Samantha & Sebastian are absolute pros at delivering powerful & emotional performances. I seriously could listen to Samantha all day. She's so talented not only voicing Scottie but multiple female characters & even little kids. Her versatility has no limits. You hear the fearfulness & skepticism in her voice as she tries to navigate her way through this unexpected situation. Her narration is always so emotional & captivating. Sebastian has been knocking it out of the park lately & he's equally as impressive capturing the hurt, possessive & protective nature of Grady. Together, they delivered the perfect balance of a sweet, tender & heartwarming love story.

If you love small-town romance this series is an absolute must! You get wonderful family dynamics, supportive friendships, humor & heat! Harlow really gives you the whole package in this series. I'm very much looking forward to the next one in this series.

Grady is Everything!

The hero, Grady, is EVERYTHING! He has loved Scottie since they were kids, but they lost touch for 17 years when he became a Major League Baseball player and she became a mother and a wife to a horrible man. They reunited in their hometown and had a one night stand where Scottie got pregnant. She didn’t realize she was pregnant until she brought her 14-year-old son, Chase, back to Carrington Cove where she got a new job. Grady was all in before he found out about the baby, and was more of a father to Chase than Scottie’s ex. Grady was patient with Scottie as she had to navigate her feelings/the emotional trauma that her ex-husband put her and Chase through. Ultimately, Grady was perfect for Scottie and the dad Chase needed. The caretaking that Grady did for Scottie and Chase was perfect! He was possessive and protective! He had the “my woman” mentality towards Scottie, and the relationship that he had with Chase through coaching the baseball team and working with Chase through a rough beginning was perfect! Scottie was a strong heroine who had to work through her stuff while being everything for her son. The meddling family members are both sides gave humor when it was needed. The plot was more character driven, which worked well for the storyline. I love my time in this world! I would recommend Sometimes You Fall!

A Beautiful Story

This is book three in the Covington Cove series. This is Grady & Scottie's book. I was looking forward to Grady's story and Harlow James did not disappoint. Harlow grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let me go. Her writing is so beautifully done. She had me laughing & getting all teary eyed. The story flowed flawlessly and seeing the love grow between them was so sweet & beautiful.
Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York were perfect for Scottie & Grady. Samantha did a wonderful job in capturing Scottie's love she had but also her fear of letting go of her past & putting her trust in Grady.
Sebastian was brilliant as Grady. He got Grady's grumpiness & his soft side down so perfectly. One minute he had me laughing and the next I was all up in my feels.
I have been loving the Covington Cobe series & just when I have a favorite couple, Harlow gives us Grady & Scottie.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I did not expect to love Grady as much as I do.

Book 3 of the Carrington Cove series but it can be read as a stand alone. Biggest impact will come from reading in sequence, but if you want to start here, in my opinion, you totally can.

I was not prepared for how much I was going to fall in love with Grady Reynolds. I am in a tug of war with myself over deciding if I love him more that Walker so I've chosen not to choose. I love them both (as I love all of Harlow's men). Grady is a true gem in how head first he dove into impending fatherhood for his unborn child AND took on the task of trying to bond with (slowly and organically without forcing anything) Scottie's teenage son. Grady was a swoon worthy hero in this story doing everything possible to win both mother and son over to his desired goal to be a family.

When it comes to pregnancy portrayals in books, I love when everything feels so real and relatable. And this one steps to the plate and hits it out of the park (yes, I'm using baseball analogies, it works for this book, trust me!). I found myself equal parts amused and sympathetic to the plight of Scottie as she grew a human inside her. Pregnancy aside, Scottie was very guarded and didn't want to make the same mistakes twice. I felt her pain and fear so much and was very glad when Grady was able to get behind those walls.

The audiobook was performed by Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York. I love Samantha and the way she balanced the emotions involved in Scottie's journey, it was so well done. I was so deeply involved in her feelings and wanting to be inside Scottie's head. And Sebastian is a wonderful grump and though Grady starts out as a massively grumpy grump, he doesn't stay that way and the evolution from gump to devoted partner/future dad was so much fun to experience. These two really were perfectly cast for these roles and I can't wait to listen to them multiple times in the future.

I requested and was generously provided with an advanced copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.

“You make me feel like a piece of my heart exists outside my body...”

I had so much fun listening to this story, and Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York were absolutely fantastic.

Scottie and Grady were childhood friends who, due to life circumstances, drifted apart as they grew up. Seventeen years, one divorce, one teenage kid, and a one one night stand later, Grady and Scottie find themselves permanently back in each other's lives.

I loved the way the author presented teenager dynamics with Chase, especially all the awkwardness when anything baby-making related was involved, and all the pregnancy mood swings with Scottie. Also, Gigi, with her unfiltered comments, was totally hilarious and super entertaining (the narrators totally nailed this, btw).

The way that Grady was all in from the moment he found out about the baby, and was even willing to build a relationship with Chase, even if Scottie didn't want to be romantically involved with him, was absolutely perfect. And I loved the way that Grady stood up and showed up for Scottie and how he became a male role model for Chase.

Quote: “I’m the man who’s having a baby with your ex-wife, the man who gets to love and protect her now, and the man who gets to show your son what it means to actually be a man of his word.”
