About this listen

She survived.

Kit survived her abusive husband. Survived imprisonment and beatings from the Patriot Zealots. Now free, and healing, she can make a new life for herself and her son....Except, he has attached himself to a terrifying, scarred, tattooed ex-mercenary.

Women take one look at him, and flee.

An ugly childhood and combat left Hawk with scars, a rasping voice, and an aversion to talking. So, why in hell does the four-year-old stick to him like glue?

The kid’s pretty mother is smarter. There’s fear in her eyes, when she looks at Hawk. That hurts. The sweet woman is everything he’s ever wanted - loving, affectionate, and patient. But, after what she’s been through, she sure won’t want to be around men - especially the one who killed her husband.

He’d saved her.

Kit agrees with her son. Being near Hawk is the safest place on earth. Beneath the menacing appearance, he’s protective - and kind. The better she gets to know him, the more she sees him as a man - a very sexy man. But, considering what had happened to her, she knows....

No man would want her now.

One of her better efforts

This book by Sinclair is very good. I had been waiting after the disappointing 3rd book in the series. This one has all the elements of a good story. Romance, suspense, mystery. Very worth while.

Great read, great series!

I have so enjoyed this series. I hope she finds a way to continue, or write a new series similar? These guys don't need special costumes or rituals or titles or venues to be macho alphas, they just ARE! Really want more like this!

Hawks story! No one deserves happiness more than him…

Except maybe Kit….

Kit survived her time in the Patriot Zealot camp. She’s healing and learning to trust again.

Hawk has been caring for her son and is bonded to him. Kit is good with that. Hawk doesn’t think he’s good enough for Kit, but he’s drawn to her. She doesn’t think anything will ever make her want to be with someone again, but finds herself drawn to Hawk.

As the navigate this between, the PZs are gearing up for retribution….

Cherish Sinclair is a writer I love reading! This book is excellent!! Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St Claire did a wonderful job with the narration!!!!

Nice

Spoilers: I knew after reading the first book that something big was going to happen at the hermitage and this did not disappoint. The was a great end to this series. Had a lot of fun with these guys! I love the brotherly banter and teasing of each other and their girlfriends. Lol.

Soar High

this book broke my heart, made me cry sad and happy tears. Hawk and Kit are such are strong couple that's beyond words. They over came the worse of the worse but came thru it all. I ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT RECOMMEND BUYING OR USING A CREDIT ON THIS BOOK. You will not be disappointed. All four book were worth it. Yes, Frankie ticked me off from book three (Bulls lady), but i understood why she was the way she was. But it's best reading all four brothers story from the beginning. i will certainly be going back to Rescue to visit again with this wonderful family. Maco, you did the right things by these boys. You took them out of hell and made them the men that they became.

Excellent Ending to the Series!!

I am kind of sad that this was the last book in the series. I have to say that I thought it was the best book of the series.

Hawk, Kit, and Eric's journey was filled with emotion. At times it was frightening, sad, and painful. There was also happiness, a sense of friendship and belonging, healing, and the feeling of family.

I liked the this group of people (Gabe, Audrey, Caz, JJ, Regan, Bull, Frankie, Hawk, Kit,and Eric) were able to create a family of the heart. There were a number of other people from the area that rounded out that sense of family.

This book also addressed some of the trauma that Kit had endured, as well as what Eric had been through. Both Hawk's childhood trauma and military experiences were also included.

I loved the way Hawk and Kit's romance and relationship blossomed. After enduring some crossed communication moments, Hawk was patient and gentle, and Kit had the strength and kindness that Hawk needed. Eric was the key that started the demolition of Hawk's defenses.

This book was full of action, danger, and suspense. There was a period of time I didn't realize I was holding my breath waiting to see what would happen next. I could easily see why Kit was so terrified of the PZ's. At absolute minimum they were unnerving.

I listened to the audiobook and thought the narration was great. The narrators successfully convey each emotion the characters endured. An excellent ending to a thoroughly enjoyable series.

Hawk!

Yay! Hawk! I've been waiting with baited breath for Hawk's story and I was not disappointed. The character development was fantastic, showing the different layers of Hawk after him being a more quiet reserved character and diving into the complexities of trauma over the lifespan of multiple characters and its impact on different relationships was done beautifully. This short series is now one of my favorites. I highly recommend!

Perfection

Hawk and Kit’s book is wonderful. I like how they work through a lot of their pasts and become better and stronger. Gunner Qualen and Jenna St. Claire do an excellent job of bringing all of the people of Rescue alive.
I wish there were going to be more books in this series, but understand that Cherise wanted to weight just a short series and it is a excellent series to read
