About this listen

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish, read by Martin Freeman, is the fourth instalment in Douglas Adams' bestselling Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 'trilogy'.

There is a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. It's not an easy thing to do, and Arthur Dent thinks he's the only human who's been able to master this nifty little trick – until he meets Fenchurch, the woman of his dreams.

Fenchurch once realized how the world could be made a good and happy place. Unfortunately, she's forgotten. Convinced that the secret lies within God's Final Message to His Creation, they go in search of it. And, in a dramatic break with tradition, actually find it . . .

Follow Arthur Dent's galactic (mis)adventures in the last of the 'trilogy of five', Mostly Harmless.

Great Book

It was great as every book in the trilogy but it seemed to have a bit less of the sci-fi factor. Overall great book :)

For the not so serious

A keen piece allowing one to lose themselves with the creativity and imagination by another. A good time filler.

Brilliant

Of course, the story is wonderful, there was no doubt about that, I am here to praise an absolute masterpiece of a performance. Every singe second of it was enjoyable and amazing. Thank you very much for putting it together.

Great book, weird ending

So it continues the story just fine.
The humour is still there and the weird writing is still there.
There is even a chapter that gets very philosophical about how a character views sanity which is brilliant.
The last few chapters are its weakest and can be a little confusing. Maybe the follow up book will solve it

Genius tying up of all the universal threads left dangling in the previous books!

Amazing how well this story has aged…still has resonance and messages wrapped up in all the “madness” and humour…
