About this listen

Biker rom-com

Dad was an outlaw. Mom was the daughter of The Man. I’ve never belonged in either world, always stuck somewhere in between.

My job with the sheriff’s department pays the bills, but I’m faking my way through life. No one is the least bit interested in seeing behind my mask until Journey Sheerer.

My temperamental temptress knows as little about romance as I do. We might crash and burn, but I can’t let her go. All of these months, I’ve waited for my shot with the girl sporting a scary scowl and an even scarier right hook. Having finally made my move, I don’t doubt it’ll be one helluva bumpy ride.

Fall in love with the Sheerer girls all over again

Snake Charmer is the second book in this series featuring the three Sheerer sisters, their mother and father, and the Rawkfist Motorcycle Club in a small West Virginia town. I highly recommend listening to the first book, Black Sheep, before starting Snake Charmer because it picks up right were book one ended. The two main characters in this book are completely inept at relationships, and this makes for some absolutely hilarious situations but also some sad moments as they hurt each other in an attempt to protect themselves from disappointment.

Journey is a buff tomboy, the family protector and a virgin rapidly approaching 30. Donovan is a police officer with family in both law enforcement and the Rawkfist MC, so he is basically ostracized by both sides of his family. Journey's family is completely outspoken, loving and boisterous, welcoming Donovan into their fold as only the Sheerer girls can. However, because his family is so dismissive of him, Journey and her family's love scare Donovan almost to the point of flight. After much back and forth, these two amazing characters come to a great place, and I can hardly wait to see what Bijou Hunter has in store for the youngest Sheerer daughter in the next book.

Isabella Starr's narration is very enjoyable, but I liked her more for Journey than for Donovan. I felt like her delivery for Donovan was a little flat, but she handled Journey's sarcastic, snappish wit to perfection. I truly haven't laughed so hard at a book since the first book in the series, and I know it is in part to the timing of Starr's performance of Journey and her wacky sisters.

Lots of laughs!!!

Once again, with this family and in this series, I was laughing throughout the whole time!! This time, older sister Journey is getting together with a town cop, Donovan, after he pulls her over to ask for a date 😂 (he also happens to be Court’s cousin). Things go slow, and they are not easy to begin with. Donovan has a lot of baggage and Journey just isn’t sure at first. But as tough as it was, I loved them fighting through (mostly Journey, because she IS a fighter) and getting together. I love these books, this crazy family, the wit, sarcasm & humor is so much fun to listen to!! Isabella Star knocks it out of the park!!

Loved it

Bijou Hunter writes amazing books but this series tops it for me. Donavan and Journeys story is funny and hart worming at how they don’t give up on each other.

Great series!

I loved the first book and this one didn't disappoint! I can't wait for Book 3. It's a sweet story but oh so funny and with such sarcasm. I giggled or groaned all the way through - in a very very good way. :)
