About this listen

Summer break . . . and the livin' ain't easy!

Just because the students at New York College have flown the coop doesn't mean assistant residence hall director Heather Wells can relax. Fischer Hall is busier than ever, filled with squealing thirteen- and fourteen-year-old girls attending the first ever Tania Trace Teen Rock Camp, hosted by pop sensation Tania Trace herself - who just happens to be newly married to Heather's ex-boyfriend, heartthrob Jordan Cartwright. But the real headache begins when the producer of a reality TV show starring Tania winds up dead . . . and it's clear that the star was the intended victim.

Grant Cartwright, head of Cartwright Records, wants to keep his daughter-in-law (and his highest-earning performer) alive. So he hires his oldest son, black sheep of the family and private investigator Cooper Cartwright - who just happens to be Heather's new fiancé. Heather should leave the detecting to Cooper. But with a dorm full of hysterical mini-divas-in-training, she can't help but get involved. And after Tania shares a really shocking secret with her, this reality suddenly becomes more dangerously real than anyone ever anticipated.

I love this series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have already recommended this book and the entire series to friends. Heather Wells is great fun.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

the narrator did not seem to have a good idea of the characters, many of the male characters all sound the same.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book, would have enjoyed it much more had Justine Eyre narrated.

Enjoyable!

I've listened to the three previous Heather Wells mysteries and really enjoyed them. I was excited to hear there was another and immediately downloaded it. I was not disappointed. It took me awhile to get used to the reader, but after a period of adjustment, it worked for me.

I liked that we learn more about Heather and Copper's relationship and their relationship with his family, which includes Jordan Cartwright, Heather's ex and Cooper's brother and Tania Trace, the woman who broke up Heather and Jordan.

It was worth the use of my credit and I will listen to it again!

Another good one!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have listened to other books in this series and really enjoyed them. I wasn't sure about this one with a different narrator than before but was pleasantly surprised. Sandy did a great job with all the characters. I look forward to hearing her again.

Not like the earlier books

This book was wonderfully far fetched (like all the Heather Wells books before it), but it wasn't as funny or lighthearted with witty language. They didn't harp too much about her love of food (I LOVE food) and her band of misfit students are still there.....but when we suddenly start to feel sorry for Tonya Trace it became a bit too dramatic and no longer the light hearted far fetched murder mystery I expected.
I like Heather, and her misfit students, and Cooper, and am glad I read the book, but by the last 2 chapters I was ready for the drama to end...I wanted a bit more funny. I will not read this one again, but I am glad I read it once. Size 12, Size 14, and Big Boned were better.

Book is awesome....Narrator is not.

Would you consider the audio edition of Size 12 and Ready to Rock to be better than the print version?

No, and its a shame, because the other audio books in the series were great, and got me invested into the series.

What did you like best about this story?

As usual Heather's interactions with the other characters in Fischer Hall is almost always just as good as the murder mystery.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Sandy Rustin?

Kristen Kairos or Justine Eyre. I think it's always better to have a constant voice be the voice of the series, and either Kairos or Eyre would have been best. Sadly, the fact if the matter is that Ms. Rustin didn't really seem to try, her interpretation of Gavin and the others was really just bad. Her narration of the story cost Meg Cabot a star.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Tanya Trace described her first marriage.

Any additional comments?

This book managed to make Tanya Trace likable which was quite the feat when you consider that she was like a constant villain for the other three books. Overall, it was a awesome book, only slowed down by a bad narrator, who doesn't show any excitement for the book.

Will put a smile to your face

The series is a perfect summer read . The narrator makes the book come alive. I love her voice, she is able to convey the personalities of all the characters , especially the main characters as i imagined with a fresh and fun feel.
