About this listen

Tia

I've done my best to avoid him.

But when his dark eyes lock onto mine, this time, I know there's nowhere I can go. Nowhere I can hide.

Nowhere he won't find me.

He is Smoke. Head of the D'Angelos.

Gorgeous and haunting. Brutal and ruthless.

He rules Chicago, and I owe him a debt. And now…he owns me.

Smoke

I should send her away…

This beautiful, innocent girl that conjures the best and worst in me.

But I won't.

I can't.

She had her chance and she blew it.

It's time she learns what it means to owe a debt to the ruler of Chicago.

And it starts with me ruining her...

Body and soul.

The Debt is a steamy romance that can be listened to as a stand-alone in the SINS of the Syndicate series. Published by Lexxi James, LLC. Produced by East House Productions.

So Good!

This was my intro to Lexxi James, and I need more! I loved the storyline, and was drawn in immediately.

Tia and Smoke were both great characters, and I loved both of their POVs, as well as the narrators that brought them to life.

Sins of the Syndicate #3
The Debt
Lexxi James

What to Expect:
- Dark Mafia Romance
- Billionaire Romance
- Romantic Suspense
- Age-Gap
- Forced Proximity
- Forced Marriage

The Debt is the third book in the Sins of Syndicate series. This book follows Mason D'Angelo (Smoke) and Tia the pickpocket. Smoke is the leader of the Syndicate. Tia is a very talented pickpocket a part of a two-woman team that do what they have to in order to stay alive. Then she picks the wrong pocket she is thrown into Smoke's world.

Even though Smoke and Tia are drawn to each other, this is a slow-burn romance. Their inner dialogue as they struggled with their feelings was very entertaining.

This fast paced, even if a slow burn, enemies to lovers, dark, mafia romance was entertaining and had me hooked from the beginning.

Thanks to Lexxi James, and Word Smith for the ALC. Opinions expressed are my own.

Stella Hunter and Patrick Zeller were so good as Tia and Smoke. Their voices for these characters were perfection.

Intrigued and detailed

While it’s not the first in the series, this can easily be read as a standalone. I don’t feel like I missed anything.
Tia is broken and needs help despite not wanting it. Smoke doesn’t want anything more than what he has until it changes.

It’s an age gap that doesn’t include immaturity. I enjoyed how detailed the author was and how easy it was to follow along.

I really enjoyed this one

Stella performed her butt off. I always love to listen to her narration. She does a great "man" voice. The other narrators did a good job, but I do feel like they both sounded much older than the role they were portraying, but that is just me. I loved the story, too. I can't wait to read or listen to more from this author.

Mafia Romance

This is book three of an interconnected stand alone series. I don’t think this is an easy story to jump into at book 3. I also don’t think it’s a good story to listen to. It’s very hard to follow at some points. When it comes to the mafia aspect and that plot I’m still very confused as to what actually happened. I enjoyed the forced marriage and the blooming romance. I didn’t really enjoy the male narrator.
