About this listen

A paranormal women’s fiction (PWF) that’ll light your fire!

All Rose wants is peace, quiet, and some quality time with her lovable foster dog, Braveheart. Unfortunately, a devious elder fire witch has decided it’s time to begin Rose’s training in fire magic - and she won’t take no for an answer.

But even fire spells are no match for family drama: Rose’s sister is in the middle of a divorce, and it’s up to Rose to stop the soon-to-be-ex-husband’s plan to keep the house for himself.

With the help of the Ride-or-Die Witches, a friendly fire-setting cat, and a handsome British chauffeur, Rose must fight for her sister’s home...while uncovering a mysterious new threat to the witches of Sparkle Beach.

They say you can’t fight fire with fire, but she’s got magic to burn.

A wonderful sequel to Silver Spells

Silver Charms is the second book in the Midlife Elementals paranormal women’s fiction series.  This time, the story follows Rose as she develops her fire powers, makes an uneasy alliance with Mrs. Millefleur, and finds herself attracted to Oliver, Mrs. Millefleur’s British chauffeur, all while trying to unravel the mystery of a new threat to the witches of Sparkle Beach and protect her sister during her sister's contentious divorce.

I loved Silver Spells for its intriguing mix of magic, mystery, and romance in the cozy Sparkle Beach setting.  Silver Charms delivers everything I loved in the first book, with the added excitement of getting to know a new protagonist.  Whereas Luella was all Southern charm and gentleness, Rose is sharper edged - and it’s a lot of fun to watch the conflicts that result.

Favorite characters such as Mama, Pepper, Queenie, and Raphael return, and some interesting new characters are introduced, including more than one adorable familiar.  Although I loved Raphael to bits, Oliver is my favorite romantic interest so far.  He’s quite charming.

Xe Sands’ performance is wonderful as always.  She got the characters exactly right in Silver Spells and continues her excellent voiceover work in Silver Charms.  I hope she returns for the next one, and I look forward to seeing where this continuing story goes with Pepper in Silver Dreams.

Great PWF Read!!!

I love this new genre of paranormal women’s fiction. Having characters that are middle aged and relatable is so much fun.

The narrator for this series is spot in with her portrayal of the characters and the accent of the voices. She takes you into this newly found world of magic and mesmerizes you with each word spoken. This is the first series I have read by this author but I must say she has joined many of my favorites. If you are a fan of Robyn Peterman, Darynda Jones, or Jana DeLeon you will love this series.

So much fun!

I loved this continuation of the series. In this second book we get to follow Rose as she gets more control of her magic and her own familiar. I loved Rose and her family so much and getting to see the three friends work together more. This is a very fun series to listen to. I loved this PWF series and can’t wait to see what else will happen. We also get to learn more about why certain people did things in the first book which I loved.

I Love this book even more than Book 1

This was a busy story with Mysteries to solve, and heros to step up and do things they thought they were not capable of. Narrator does a good job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Fun Story!

This is the second book in the Midlife Elementals series. You must start with book 1 so you can understand where everyone is coming from. The story is told in Rose’s POV.

Narration is well done and brings the story to life.

Here you will find mystery, magic, romance, and some pretty funny moments. I love the magical familiars and the secondary characters are fun and interesting. I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times!

I enjoyed the first book, but I like book two even more than the previous one. Considering book one was about Luella and this second one is about Rose, I’m assuming there will be a third book about Pepper. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

Another Magical Delight! Fantastic Story & Listen🎧

Kate Moseman pens another fabulous novel set in her “Midlife Elemental” series. I highly recommend starting with “Silver Spells” the first book in the series, not only it is an enjoyable delight of a story but it lays down the foundation for the rest of the series, plus it is beneficial to know the backstory of these wonderfully magical characters and how they come about and into their own. Each book in this series features one of the three friends, in the first book we met all three, Luella, Rose and Pepper, the first book featured Luella Campbell, this book is featuring Rose Conleth. Mrs. Millefleur, the one who started trouble in the first book, visits Rose with a proposition to teach her how to work her magic. Rose does not trust her much but takes her up on her offer, she also has her eye on Oliver, her handsome chauffeur. Rose’s sister, Isabella, is having problems with her husband and Rose wants to help with that and with the help of her two witchy friends they come up with a plan. You can not help but love these three, the camaraderie amongst the friends is absolutely amazing, it is something everyone wants and should have, friends to depend on are the best. A lot goes on in this book, something is not right in Sparkle Beach and they need to get to get to the bottom of it and find out who is behind it. Oliver turns out to be an asset and way more than a Chauffeur. More familiars are introduced in this book as well as a fabulous foster dog. This is an enjoyable and entertaining story, it is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, witty dialogue and humor, twists and turns, heartfelt emotions and a touch of romance. Kate Moseman, thank you for another wonderfully delightful story, loved the originality and how imaginative the storylines are.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Xe Sands continues to bring these characters and their story to life. She has a complete understanding of the characters she portrays, giving each a voice that fits that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. You could hear how much heart she put into her work as she captures the characters’ emotions and projects them into her performance. She sets the perfect tone for the story, handles the witty dialogue with ease and lands the humor flawlessly. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

I’m really enjoying this series

Kate Moseman has created a great follow up installment in this series. The characters continue to grow.
Xe Sands, as always, gave a stellar performance as she breathed life into the story and gave each character their own distinct voice.
I have already downloaded the next in series and am curious to find out what will happen next.
I highly recommend this book/audiobook to cozy mystery fans.

A light, fun, magical adventure

The Ride or Die Witches of Sparkle Beach are back! This time it’s fire witch Rose’s story. As Rose tries to harness her fire magic, her sister is struggling through a difficult divorce, and something is amiss on the magical side of the town of Sparkle Beach. Not to mention the hot, British chauffeur that Rose’s sort-of mentor has schlepping her around town. Rose is such a great character. She’s fiercely independent, stubborn, and extremely loyal and giving to those she loves. This was a very enjoyable book about how she comes into her magic, and truly makes it her own.

A light book, with a fun, flirty romance thrown into the mix, this is a very enjoyable book. There are some funny magical shenanigans, some new familiars - including Rose’s awesome fire cat, and some truly heartfelt, sweet moments between friends and family. There is even a bit of a mystery/conflict that the witches need to handle, in a way only they can. We also meet some new witches, and get some additional insights into this magical world. Looking forward to the next book of the series, which I’m guessing will be Pepper’s story - can’t wait to see what she gets for a familiar!
