Michael Palmer
In his previous best seller, Natural Causes, Dr. Michael Palmer drew on decades of emergency-room experience to create a terrifyingly realistic world where the line between medicine and murder is scalpel thin. In Silent Treatment, he crosses this line with a heart-pounding thriller guaranteed to satisfy fans of medical suspense.
When his wife mysteriously dies the night before she is scheduled for surgery, Dr. Harry Corbett realizes a killer is moving through the wards of Good Samaritan Hospital - a killer so sophisticated and silent that he can only be a doctor.

What made the experience of listening to Silent Treatment the most enjoyable?
I loved the characters of the story and their responses to the different situations they encountered. They were real, yet entertaining, and the plot kept me enthralled.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot definitely kept me in there; I couldn't wait to hear the next chapter. I enjoyed the technical aspects of the storylines, which were spot on, and I appreciated the interaction of the characters, which kept me rooting for them.Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first time with George Guidall. I'll look for more by him.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme responses were felt other than a great big sense of relief when things worked out and flashes of adrenaline when they didn't. But......those are good responses!Any additional comments?
I'll read more of Mr. Palmer's books and listen to more of the narrator. They both did a fine job.Great medical thriller

Would you listen to Silent Treatment again? Why?
Excellent character development, and an first rate understanding of the "business of the healthcare industrial complex" bone chillingly gripping and real. It will be in my vacation selection when I "read" my favorites.Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Mr. Guidall has an excellent range and convincingly portrays a wide variety of characters.A cautionary tale for healthcare reform

What made the experience of listening to Silent Treatment the most enjoyable?
This was well written. Suspense from start to finish. I also enjoyed the possibility of the plot...and 'villians'. I think that made it even more plausible...to think, this could happen. May already be happening in our insurance world. What was one of the most memorable moments of Silent Treatment?
Moved naturally. Most memorable? What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
I love listening to George Guidall and actually select books narrated by him simply for this reason--why I selected this book. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes, if my friend is interested in a light and easy to read and understand novel. What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
He is a great narrator and can make most any book a good listen. If this book were a movie would you go see it?
NoAny additional comments?
I'm used to reading mysteries/thrillers that have more depth. Characters are superficial, they have no intrigue. Mystery is too easy to solve. There is no action, no edge of the seat excitement. Dull but readable.Listen to an avid user of audible

George Guidall as narrator is spectacular! His accents helped to bring the characters to life. I'll be looking for more audio books he has narrated.
Entertaining

There are a number of extremely inventive scenes. In one that is toward the end of the book, Harry and his new love Maura Hughes are loaned a fully tricked-out RV by his brother, and they try to make their lumbering getaway from the cops in this $200,000 rolling palace, a kind of low-speed chase that reminded me just a little of O.J. Simpson's videotaped trip. I noticed that the book was written in 1995, and the OJ extravaganza was in 1994! Ripped from the headlines!
George Guidall does his usual wonderful job of narration. The more I listen to George the more impressed with him I am. He paces the story in a terrific way, with the action sequences speeding up and the slower scenes appropriately slowing down to let us breathe and rest and try to incorporate everything that we have heard. He voices the entire range of human emotions, from murderous rage to tender love, with care and accuracy.
I know that Robin Cook and Michael Crichton have written medical thrillers, and I think that Silent Treatment belongs up there with those guys (unless Robin is a woman). I will definitely read/listen to more of his work. The folks who just read with their eyes: you think they even have the slightest idea of what they're missing?
Thrilling medical thriller. Thrillingly read.

I always learn something about medicine, medical frauds and unethical administrators. I worked 17 years in healthcare and as Palmer puts his story together I usually realize something I've seen without recognition.
I think it's worth the read.
Haven't read a bad Palmer, this is another good
