About this listen

The #1 New York Times bestselling author and the Edgar Award-winning author are back with a new novel featuring Kendra Michaels - hired gun for both the CIA and FBI.

A deadly multi-vehicle pile-up on San Diego’s historic Cabrillo bridge is thought of as a horrific accident - until Kendra Michaels arrives on the scene and perceives it as something much more sinister.

Blind for decades and now sighted, Kendra's unusual skill for observation is highly sought after by both the FBI and CIA. Now her amazing conclusions open up a multi-jurisdictional investigation that once again teams her with the FBI and federal agent Adam Kyle as they investigate a conspiracy so explosive that someone will kill again and again to protect it. As the killer casts a deadly web of lies, Kendra’s life hangs in the balance, as do the lives of those she holds most dear.

The extraordinary Kendra Michaels

If you could sum up Sight Unseen in three words, what would they be?

Great start, interesting book, not the typical crime novel that one would expect. Kendra's character brings a new perspective in investigative crime novels.

Would you recommend Sight Unseen to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes. Nice change of pace in crime novels.

Which character – as performed by Elisabeth Rodgers – was your favorite?

Kendra. The secondary characters were integrated well into this novel.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. After a quick start, a little fizzle brought down my expectations.

Any additional comments?

Would listen to a follow up novel involving Kendra Michaels.

Couldn't stop listening...

Where does Sight Unseen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely toward the top.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Every time I thought I'd figured something out I was shot down. I was left guessing right up until the end.

My type of book

What made the experience of listening to Sight Unseen the most enjoyable?

Normally it takes about 2 chapters for me to get into a book. After 5 minutes of Sight Unseen, I knew I would like it.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

You know who the killer is towards the beginning of the book but this is not a who-done-it but ....

What about Elisabeth Rodgers’s performance did you like?

Great style. She seems to feel the words.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes.

I didn’t like that the killer got away. I guess it continues in another book

Extra gore, extra complicated story

better than the first Kindra Michaels book as the characters are more developed. The plot is awfully complicated. I am going to read book 3 now!

Keep these terrific books coming!

"Sight Unseen"' another book written by Roy & Iris Johansen, narrated by Elizabeth Rogers. This is the second book in this series & maybe a bit more exciting than the first book. Looking forward to the next book. Hope Elizabeth Rogers narrates again, she brings the story alive for me. I can do household chores or sew while enjoying a delicious story!

ANOTHER HIT!!!

I'm so glad I've found Iris and Roy Johansen. It's unusual to have a book written by two people with the same last name. I don't know if they are husband and wife, brother and sister, etc. But they certainly work well together. After doing a little research on both, I don't think the ratings when writing individually are as good as when they co-author. It's almost like they feed off each other's imagination. It's great! This story is even better than the first release. It encourages me to continue to move forward into the series.

I enjoy Elisabeth Rodgers narration to the fullest. I'm glad to see that they continue to use her as the narrator of choice throughout the series. One of my pet peeves is when a series starts out great and the narrator changes. It destroys the effectiveness of the series IMO.
